I run a small laser cutting business, and if that water isn't either properly distilled, or fully de-mineralised, get it out of there, trust me ... Run it for a few minutes with white vineger to clear out the tube of any residuals, and then replace with the correct stuff so you don't drastically reduce the lifespan of the tube. Also if you can, keep the water reservoir cooled BELOW 25c at all times when running, again, so you don;t drastically reduce the lifespan of the tube. A proper chiller, or a reservoir with replaceable bottles of Ice will do, the ice acts as a heat exchanger and you just replace the bottles when required. Looking forward to see what you do with it :)

Thanks a lot for the tips! Replacing the water is easy enough and I'll do that for sure, but I'll think about the cooler as well. ;)

Cool. It uses Illustrator. I like that it gives you a test chart for future reference. And the engraving function is very impressive. It looks precise in it's ability to cut & engrave. I dig the cut out of your brand logo at the end. Nice touch 🙂

Cool, I am really looking forward to your new project. Decided, I will support you, if you decide to go for kickstarter again. I loved Slice of Life, and then watched all the making off videos. Just a question: would you consider to do "making of" videos also for the developmental stage, such as screen writing, design decisions, etc?

Hi, I'm looking at Beambox to cut acrylic (various pastel colors for cake toppers, signs, etc). Is this machine quiet and easy to use? Your thoughts? Thank you.
@sliceoflifefilm2 жыл бұрын
Sorry Almira, I missed your comment until now. My experience with beambox pro is great. Its very easy to use and intuitive. Once you have your design its less then a minute of setup before you start cutting. And its not that loud. The cutting itself is pretty silent, the extraction vent is the loudest part but its not that bad. All in all, a well made product in my experience. ;)
@amael12242 жыл бұрын
@@sliceoflifefilm thank you for getting back to me. But dies the beanbix pro able to cut various acrylic in pastel colors without a problem? Thank you.

@@amael1224 i only cut transparent acrylic so far but i dont see why it couldn't cut pastel ones as well. Its the same material after all.

Did you test the laser on your finger? =)
@sliceoflifefilm3 жыл бұрын
haha, it turned out like that in the video but it was an exacto knife cut! Actually the Beambox has a safety feature - when you open the lid it immediately stops the laser so I couldn't test it with my finger even if I wanted to.
