Nice video. Its one thing to say it, and another to actually show it.

That flux core pass turned out pretty good.

If you turned down the wire feed a little bit on the solid wire welding with the very first pass, that would have went a bit better. I could hear the wire popping in the arc.. too much wire for the heat setting..

flux-cored(aka dual shield) might give you less spatter (buckshots) with a 75/25 CO2/Ar mix.

Very simple video to follow. I am a DIY GUY now learning to weld. What lens shade is normally used for this type of welding?
@TehOriginalNick7 жыл бұрын
a little late but for, mig welding id use a shade 10

what size of the wire did you use? thanks man

forgot to mention that they make an "anti spatter" gel or spray that can be applied to workpiece and MIG gun nozzles.

hopefuly you've learned to grag the puddle. That flux core bead would have looked awesome if dragged

Is the Flux Core Wire you are using in this video uses gas?
@MrPaco10136 жыл бұрын
Flux core is dirtier when you use cheep wire. I've found that good flux core wire dose not leave very much spatter.

it doesn't matter the skill level, which machine or brand of wire and what setting and speed, flux core will never look near as good and clean as gas. nobody can do stack of dimes with flux core.

WV591 Actually, you can get a very nice looking bead doing the stop n' go (oscillation) on a straight stringer using flux core, but you also need a top-notch wire like Esab, Lincoln or Blue Demon to make it happen.
