The Daft punk were one of the most important precursor of electronic music, they've experimented a lot a sounds + their soundtracks for Tron : Legacy, so it's not that surprising to notice some similarities here and there, and even if we notice it, it's always good :)

Daft Punk are important electronic music producers, but hardly the precursors. Groups like Leftfield, Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy led the way in the 90's. Or go further back to the likes of Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, or Jean Michel Jarre. I mean no disrespect, but I've found the further I go back through electronic music history the more amazing tunes I find. You can see how it evolved, who broke ground and who tweaked things just enough to blow your mind.

Just because it wasn't some filthy dub shit, does not mean it's bad. Aoki is a great producer that owns his own label, this is far from becoming mainstream. I love the fact that he's breaking out of his comfort zone and making a dope electro house track.
