I don't feel as if it would have gotten the same impact as it did if I had used that. I've seen the comic, and while it does have some emotional moments, I don't think it's the same kind of emotions I was trying to spark. There's too much humor in that comic for me to go sifting through to make something like this. I was going for more emotions from the original stories of Jeff and Liu, mostly from Jeff's story and his perspective.
