To be fair with all the designers out there, just stop designing in desktop first. Really, you'll appreciate me. The day I started to design on mobile first I improved my works by a lot, as well as the content I use for the website; you start to figure out what's needed and what's not, and that really makes your designs clearer. Also it's so much fun designing in mobile in terms of UI/UX, you have to find a lot of creative solutions for the content you're working with. Traffic for most of my clients is like 80% from mobile, so I totally think we should stop old habits and start to adapt our work process to the time we're living.

When redesigning an old website look at the analytics data. You may notice the majority of conversions come from mobile. It that case may be a good idea to start with the mobile experience first. This gets you out of thinking that mobile is a stripped down version of desktop, and instead focus on clear UX and functionality that will benefit most of your users. I know this is a heated debate, but mobiles are here to stay and with all the sensors they have, they will be able to provide a much richer experience once we find creative solutions for the smaller screen size problem.

You explained the responsive design steps really well. With over 50% of web users being mobile, you can't have mobile as an afterthought. Thanks again!

It's nice... bit I can't see how the grid design will be very practical at that scale on mobile once real content (that can't be changed to fit) has to be added later on...

I read this comment before watching the video. I tend to give him some credit with phrases like that but wow....that wasn't even close. And for those reading this if you are given a horse for free you should certainly check its teeth, terrible advice.

Hi, I have a question (if you still see it after this long time), I have a 1440p screen, am I supposed to design the web pages in 1080p ? And how do you make them look good in wider screen ? Do you make a responsive design for 4k, 2k, 1080p as well as mobile ? Or do you just built it in 1080p and make the component scale themselves when going on bigger screen ? And finally the last question, how can you test a website on a bigger resolution than your screen ? To really know what your website look like
