Army Aviation has a problem with retention and acquiring new pilots. In my opinion, this is what Army Aviation needs. A better social media presence. If the Army would make a KZbin channel, lets call it US Army Aviation, and show badass helicopter videos, I believe they'd have a better chance at acquiring pilots. The Navy has Tom Cruise and we have Nicolas Cage. Nice video btw.

They also need to show off the Night Stalkers a lot more. That will attract a lot of people who will want to stay their 20 years so they have the opportunity to get into the Night Stalkers. The Navy uses the SEALs in this way, and even though most recruits who join because of the SEALs don’t go on to become SEALs, the Navy still retains them.

@@aquatixofficial7868 you either have to be an enlisted officer or warrant officer to fly flight school is about a month and warrant officer school is about 5 weeks then you have SEAR school for 2 weeks, aviation BOLC is 7 weeks but you have to drop a flight packet first to be selected to go not sure how ling that takes

Worked in the tower at Hooper Stage Field out of the Ozark gate from Apr 69 to July 70. Handled UH1D models being used to train returning pilots to be instructor pilots. Happy Tiger, and Tomcat were their call signs. Worked at a couple of ranges too, but mostly at Hooper. Stage Field Company. Above the Best. Great officers, and great duty.

@@thatoneguy1741 It depends on what you like doing. You will spend the majority of your time in a TOC tracking flights and collecting information. I’m with BDE, but I would recommend CO level operations. At CO level you will actually talk to the pilots and see flight operations at the lowest level. As BDE/BN 15P, you will more and likely collect data from the lower ECHELONS. It’s kind of boring and you don’t feel like your mission critical. CO level MEDEVAC ops is cool! Highly recommend.

Great work! Which camera and lens? Did you shoot in raw and color grade or is that straight from camera? Which color profile? What did you edit in? What was your audio setup for recording?

Thank you! Panasonic LUMIX GH5s with Metabones Speedbooster. Majority of the shots were Canon 70-200 f/2.8 II, with the rest being a gamut of Simga Art series lenses (18-35 f/1.8, 50 f/1.4, 85 f/1.4). Shot in DCI 4K 10 Bit 4:2:2 400 Mbps, Natural Profile. Did a slight bit of grading (contrast, saturation, etc.) and some slight LUT work, but for the most part when Natural profile is exposed right it's that good right out of the camera! I do my editing and color grading in Adobe Premiere Pro. For audio, I used my Rode VideoMic Pro+ and a special adapter to feed the pilot intercom dialogue into a simple Zoom audio recorder.
