He is most likely somewhere perpencicular to the line of that ridge...this way he can just follow the ridge in a straight line...from where he is standing the drone would appear to be simply moving from either left to right or vice versa, all all the various altitude changes easily remain within LOS. You'll notice that he doesn't dip down below the ridge on one side, because he would most likely failsafe...he does, however, have the ability to dip down on the side nearer him. Strategic positioning is key!!!
