I recently had a trip to Aitutaki chasing bonefish. The trip was a huge success with many large bonefish coming to hand, this is just a small sample of what Aitutaki has to offer. You can check out the full report at iheartthefly.co...
Many thanks to the guides at www.e2sway.com/...
And a big thanks to www.harfinflyre...
These guys manufacture some of the best fly reels in the world!!

Etu is world famous. I did two days fishing bones with this guy. Caught at least 10 fish a day ... Amazing time. Aitutaki is heaven on earth .... better than Bora Bora

Congratulations Paul, very nice boned and great video, I was there too fishing with Etu Dawey, the bones in Aitutaki are really BIG. I coudn't find in the scientific literature a reason but it could be that they developed a local genetical mutation in the isolated and remote bay around Aitutaki.

Not sure why, but they grow pretty big.. One seems to be fat and short.. The other is long and thinner.. Maybe male/female.. Or two different types of fish.

I hooked into one of these in the Bahamas. Actually 4. All about 5-6 lbs and 1 9 lb bone. They fight unbelievably hard.

Great editing and composition on the video; but why is the quality of the actual fishing so poor? Looks like it was shot on a cellphone - unless is bump up the hd to 1080p. Even the 720p is muddy. Strange.

Those are monsters! I just came back from my second trip to Cuba and caught some big bones but these are insane. Do you have some more information for me about this trip. Best regards from Holland, Mike

Hi Paul, thank you very much! Very spectacular report. I have never heard of anyone catching flying fish on a flyrod before, very beautiful. And the GT's...wow! You definitely need to go back for one of those. It seems you have lots of choice of going after different species, very cool! Thx again!

It's because I didn't get my dslr out of my waterproof bag until I had landed the fish.. the fish fighting scenes were filmed on a gopro. Which is why they Arnt as good a quality as the land based shots.

Yes, great fish and a very nice video, but if bonefish are out of the water longer than 15 seconds their likelihood of survival post-release drops dramatically.
