Posting this to the video due to some comments from others on Facebook for others to reference. For the few that see this as an ethical issue that fine I respect that. There is nothing in this video that is illegal or wrong. I’m posting this because others will read your comments and assume the same. The Utah Fishing Proclamation is the rules and regulations for fishing in Utah. Your thoughts, misinformation, or ethical issues are not state law. For you that will still believe it is I took the time today to reach out to a conservation officer and get there thoughts: So I didn’t see anything in that video that was considered illegal or even unethical in my opinion. I looked at the guidebook too before answering you. You were not fishing a tributary that was closed during the salmon spawn. You were not intentionally snagging to catch the fish anywhere other than the mouth you were just agitating the fly in the water to piss it off so that it would chomp at it. And catch it in its mouth. The one fish that was unintentionally snagged was immediately released and you guys didn’t possess any of those salmon during the spawn. You did everything right as far as I’m concerned. Some people may not like that you were C and R during spawn but it’s not illegal.

Thanks for taking me out on my favorite fly fishing day EVER! one day I'll get a hang of it and not force you to go eggs deep in a freezing river to net my fish. haha

When you're catching Salmon, it doesn't hit you until after the Adrenalin wears off that you went "eggs deep in a freezing river". We used to chase Pacific Salmon when I was a kid, I'm sure we got mild frostbite a time or two before we realized it.
