When Connecticut's Naugatuck River warms up each year, the central stretches of the stream which wind through cities and industrial parks come alive with hordes of fierce smallmouth bass. In this episode, I grab my 8-weight fly rod and a box of streamers and hit the river to prove, once and for all, that river-born bronzebacks are a welcome reality in these waters, in spite of an unfortunate history of pollution and abuse on the Naugatuck that continues to the present day.
