Nice way to spend the day off for yourself. Was that a mono rig with Maxima Chameleon you were using at 1:19 and if so, can you tell me your recipe on the build from the fly line to the flies. I am new to fly fishing and trying that kind of set up conversion on a 9' 5 wt. rod. Thank you for sharing.

Hey there. You got it Mono Rig with Maxima Chameleon. Not sure how it runs on 9ft 5wt as that was a 2 wt Euro Rod but my favorite recipe is 30 ft of 8-10lb Maxima Chameleon straight off fly line, then 3 ft of 2x sighter material then 4x fluorocarbon adjusted to depth 👍

I have read many different opinions, but being new to this I read to start with heavier Maxima like 20lb, and taper down to 15, 10lb. to 3' of 2x sighter material to tippet ring, then 4x fluorocarbon down to 2 flies adjusted to depth. Total rig around 25-30'. When I get comfortable with this setup I was planning to go down to10lb maxima like you mentioned. I imagine you are well experienced and can shoot the 8-10lb. running line well. Does that make sense?
