Great fishing content. I enjoyed it !! Today was the first day of stocking in the stillwaters here in Wv USA. I had an awesome day of catching the stockers. The trout were very picky eaters, the only thing I could catch them on was a size 24 midge type nymph under a bobber, or indicator to be proper I guess. Ive been curious about your nymphing line. May I ask what brand it is and the diameter ? Thanks!!

With regard to stocked trout, I think that they need a day or two to become accustomed to their surrounding, their new environment, before they start looking for food in earnest. I think that is why you found them ‘picky’ and having to fish a size 24 fly. In Europe and the UK, we call this fishing under the ‘bung’. Bungs are made of various floating materials, but generally some form of foam. They are easy enough to make, but in competitions, the bung must be capable of catching fish and the hook and bung must be to the regulatory length. It’s a style that I have often used. With regard to my nymphing line, email incoming.😉

@@fredleroux6920 Hello there! Thank you for your comment. I’m using a Loomis and Franklin Nymph IM7, 10’6”, four piece, 2 weight. I’ve had it for a number of years and whilst they have produced newer models, I’m sticking with this one…. for the time being!😉
