Tying fly at the river and then not to tie it to the leader? Yes! That was the masterpiece of screenplay, especially with this cicada out of plastic bag 😂❤

Great video & some very nice fish guys. Yeah, unfortunatley the glare and cloudy conditions are not great for spotting fish. Love following you on your journey around our beautiful NZ / Aotearoa.

It warms our hearts to read these comments. Thanks a lot! We do what we love and have a lot of fun doing it! Field editing is rough cut sometimes, but I’m glad it is sufficient! Thanks for the comment! Next one coming soon

Great video guys. Nice editing and film captured on the dry fly takes. Very nice filming. Tough day on the river but still that beats a good day at work. Keep up the content as long as you are in New Zealand but even still when you head back to Norway ill keep a close eye on you filming content over in your homeland too. Great stuff 👊

I think the reason for not hooking the fish in minute 20 was the "NZ'd rig" - the fish had the fly in his mouth but the short piece of leader heading to the nymph prevented a proper hookup. Same thing happend to me also a couple of times in NZ'd until I changed to single dry flies. Good work nevertheless - tight lines!
@slowrisemedia
@slowrisemedia 4 ай бұрын
Haven’t really thought about that! But I can imagine that being true! We try to use single dries as much as possible to avoid snags and stuff while fighting, but here you bring up another good point! Thanks a lot for sharing that interesting thought/experience

Thanks a lot! And it’s very true what you are saying. We talk a little bit about it in the next episode because there we fish more and film less. When we don’t focus so much on the filming we catch way more fish. Because you need to get the photographer in possition, light needs to be right, often even the photographer spook the fish. It’s just a much much longer process

@@slowrisemedia Probably a reason why so few produce content with such high quality. At the end it needs two, dedicated to the adventure. Not just focused on catching every possible fish but to tell a story instead.
@slowrisemedia
@slowrisemedia 4 ай бұрын
@@kaidame3499 true! I have tried many times before and it’s difficult! You need someone who loves filming more than fishing, or someone who like seeing the partner fisherman/girl catch a fish as much as catching fish yourself. If not, the fishing will take over the adventure, which is also fair, because fishing is awesome 😅

@@slowrisemediathank you. Been 5 years since I fished NZ and can’t wait to get back. Safe travels. If you get to Australia and are interested in catching 8 lb Aussie salmon ( Kahwai) on fly in knee deep water, casting to schools of 1000s, that happened here in May. It’s great fun!
