Fly Fishing Solo Trip - The Gila National Forest

With a free weekend in my back pocket, I set my eyes on taking a trip to western New Mexico to target some Gila trout in the Gila National Forest. With none of the lodges in the surrounding area of Whitewater Creek, I found myself “truck camping” the night before fishing. - - This is my first time attempting to make any type of outdoor video. My plan with this channel is to capture fishing/hunting trips that I take with myself, family, and friends. Being an avid Upland Game hunter and fly fisherman, I hope to capture all the fun experiences that come along with being out in the field or on the water. I am currently a Student-Athlete at Arizona State University. So, It has been hard for me to find free time during the season to get out and fish/hunt. I was able to film this video during my bye week for football. With this being my final season of collegiate football, I plan on creating more content after the football season comes to an end. Thank y’all so much for watching. I will keep working hard to improve the quality of my videos!

Get rid of the bobber. Throw dries.

number 12 irresistible floats like a bobber and also catches trout, AND, don't pass up fishing the tail out of the pools.

The last Gila I caught at the end was on a hopper! Switching to the dry was definitely the move!
