Fly Fishing the Yellowstone river Montana (living full-time in my Jeep Cherokee XJ)

I was hanging out and Fly Fishing on the Yellowstone river in Montana for a while. I’m in my second week of September and I’m still dealing with temperatures in a 90s and 100 midday but cool in the morning. I did do some other fishing on some smaller rivers, but with the heat spell it was still putting the fishing off.

Hey John, I'm west of you right now in the Bitterroot Valley, near Missoula. The Blackfoot fished OK yesterday. Picked of two twenty-inch rainbows. Claks Fork was tough today. Couple small fish.

Nice that’s good to hear. I’ve been catching some small trout, but I did manage to catch a nice 17 inch brown in a small tiny creek which was pretty awesome. I am in Wyoming now and I’m hoping the fishing will pick up here. I did catch about a 19 inch whitefish on my 3 wt rod here and it made my day.

@@overthehillandoverthemount2925 I am in West Central Wisconsin and the fishing is great. Season closes on October 15th but opens again for catch and release only in January. I usually dont go out until March depending on conditions. Hope to get out several more times before the season ends. Yeah hard to complain when you have scenery like that even if your not catching fish!
