Hi guys, interesting video. I have been a customer of the Big Daddy lines before the next generation of lines came out. A couple of things, firstly, I have noticed a huge increase in this line "twisting" when using big mama lines relative to big daddy. I am fishing from a float tube and a shorter head helps with casting, however the casting is only being affected by the line tangling in my tray, nothing to do with the line outside of the rod. Secondly, what is the advantage of using the Grand Daddy line over the Big Daddy range? Both have the same size heads.....right? Thanks in advance!

Shorter head means less false casting compared to a longer one. Which means less twist as each and every false cast you make greats twist. And most of the time in pike fishing the caster doesn't cast all the line out which is why there will be tangles. Every now and then casting the whole line out will untwist the line. These problems amplify in a belly boat as the caster is so low. That's the reason we recommend the Grand Daddy for belly boat fishing. What comes to the tapers between Grand Daddy and old Big Daddy. The Grand Daddy has a shorter front taper which means more power to turn over big flies. It also has a longer rear taper which means more control for casting.

@@eamonhughes2247 I have the same problem with my Grand Daddy lines, I use intermediate and sink 4. I will untwist it from the boat next time I go fishing, hope it solves the problem! Have you tried it yet Eamon?

Martin Vegh Yeah I would always stretch out the line before starting with it. But this twisting effect I am commenting on is due to the belly length of the big mama lines (as I would have to false cast more, more twists occur). I have since switched to the grand daddy lines that allow me to shoot cast after one or two false casts, and that seems to do the trick. Good luck!

Yeah, I also use the Grand Daddy lines, usally do about 3-4 false casts because im a fairly beginner atm, but I started to fish closer to the shore to get 1-2 false casts done and have the fly in the water more then I have it above. Getting cold in Sweden now tho, so we'll see how many days we have left fishing :( its normally +8 celcius day time.

Hi, what Line do you recommended for the old Big Daddy Rod with the green color? I'm fishing the most Time from the Boat. And when i use the Big Mama is the 9er Line good for the 9er Big Daddy Rod? Or is the 10 weight Line better for the long Head from the Big Mama Line? At the Moment I fish the old Big Daddy Lines in 9 weight. Greetings Olli

Grand Daddy siimassa on uusi kartio. Painopiste on enemmän kärjessä ja sitä kautta takakartio on pidempi. Kääntää lyhyemmän etukartion ansiosta isoja perhoja paremmin ja pidempi takakartio antaa kontrollia.

Why do the lines have to be so expensive..we all accidentally walk on the line or catch the line on boat stuff and ruin the line ...I cant justifie the high price tag . I feel a budget option would encourage a lot more anglers to try fly fishing for pike . My hero Nicolas bauer has me sold on vision products but for average anglers the high price tag can be to much .
