BA trainers in the 80s and 90s were amazing as was the airline! I was cabin crew from 1988-2004 and it was wonderful back in the day

Never flew with BA but remember how magical it used to be to fly in the 80s and 90s when I was a child.

I recorded it on VHS when it was aired in 1987. I wanted to be a Flight Attendant after watching it and eventually joined Qantas in Sydney in 2000

I remember my neighbours recording it for me as I was at a school play and missed it! I cannot believe I saw this post today! Amazing!!

BA was fun back in the day. So miss Cranebank..😅 I was so happy I was cabin crew from 1993-2016. It's so so different now, not the BA I know anymore.. Take me back to the fun memories ❤😂

Thank you so much for sharing this! What really gets me how little the lingo and great spirit of fun still remained when I trained 1997 at Cranebank. Everything looked so new then at our old training centre! The core of BA is there and was there when I trained, although my batch only got a 16 day training course!!!! Mostly SEP of course but one trolley and tray practice plus also counting the liquour bar ; )

I hear you Emma. I trained at Virgin Atlantic years ago and was still a fun place to work. A few years later, new managers, silly rules = not so much fun allowed. QANTAS is the same unfortunately.

I remember flying in the 80s and 90s when I was a young child and there was always a magical atmosphere on board planes at that time.

Just random came across this video and I remember watching it on TV many many years ago when I was at school and how cool was BA, and how I want to work there, wondered where are they now the trainees

Those were the days - when you did an aircraft visit, before you actually flew on the aircraft type.

Wonder if they still do this fire training with all the ' Health and safety' things that go on today, obviously they have to do safety training but breathing in real smoke I don't know.

Where are the training class in this feature today? Are any of them still British Airways cabin crew?
@leemo20002 жыл бұрын
I’d like to know that too. The video is 35 years old so the crew would be in their 50’s/60’s so some might still be flying.

My mum is one of the people training in the video. She left BA when she started dating my dad and she’s now a teacher.

I’ve flown with both Neil and Paul fairly recently. I can’t remember the black girl’s name but she doesn’t look a day older.

@@ant697aww that’s cool. I’ll have to tell my mum, Helen, the Scottish one haha

@@kylematson9705Helen was definitely the star of that film. I hope she's doing well.
