When fishing for grayling i always use a Royal Coachman fly, it really does not matter what is hatching, they will go after it like crazy. I have this spot i call "Grayling palace" and in the middle of a massive day fly hatching i still Got 6 graylings on the coachman fly

Hi. I will not tell you how to fish but I will offer some advice.. The reason that you are missing so many fish is probably because you are holding your rod tip too high. After you have casted and your line is drifting downstream you are holding your rod tip 2 or 3 feet from the water surface, as a result there is a bow of line hanging down. As you then go to strike, this bow of line needs to be lifted and straightened before you try to set the hook. It is untidy and you are not in control. The solution is simple: keep your rod tip down. Keep your rod tip close to the water, this way you will not have line hanging. It's fundamental but it makes a big difference! Try also to avoid loops of line on the water, just try and keep in 'contact' with the end of the line as best you can. Super videos!! :)
