Hey Tim, thanks for the tutorial, just looking through some of the Clouser tubes and came to yours as usual. ? for you. Purposely or accidentally in the background of your tying desk behind you is a peacock tail without an eye. Funny how it resembles a fish or logo.

Now that is funny, Gary, and there has been some CRAZY stuff in the background of my videos over the years...of course you would notice! ;-) Hope all is well. Tim www.troutandfeather.com

I've seen a lot of videos on how to tie this fly. This one is in the top three. Right next to Lefty Kreh and Bob Clouser himself. Simple and straight to the point. Just like the fly. Well done.

Thanks Greg, and I am with you in regards to sparse flies! Good luck to you, as well. ~Tim

Tim, Really nice pattern and great ideas.The sparse material is a big deal because I find most flies I see are tied with too much material.I like a little sparser fly. Thanks again for taking the time to create this video and good luck in the stream.

Another great video, thanks so much! As a novice fly tier I have greatly enjoyed your videos, but I must admit I have enjoyed catching fish on the flies even more! I learned this pattern a while back and I was definitely using way too much materials--I will slim them down from now on. I tie them with varying eyes in chartreuse and white with a pink flash for bass here in the south. White bass go insane for them :) Thanks so much for going to the trouble to share your knowledge with us.

Thanks for the great video. This has solved all of my problems with this pattern and, while I like Bob's video, this is much easier to see.

Thanks, William; I really appreciate it. Though it doesn't need to be said, this is an excellent fly, and I know you'll do well with it. TC

Hi Steve; hope all is going well for you. With any significant portion of weight, the hook will ride point up. I would tie one of these flies with your bead chain and drop it in a cup of water to verify, however. Good luck, and let me know your results.

This is so close to Clouser's own method. I know this video is nearly a decade old, but it's one of the better ones. I find it interesting to see how different people tie this classic. Interestingly enough, Clouser doesn't seem to go as sparse as most people like to. I tend to follow his method 100%.

Thanks for the comments, Will, and you're correct. Lots of great stories told by Mr. Clouser re: others tying HIS flies...so funny! I appreciate your comments and hope to hear more from you on some of my other videos. Tim www.troutandfeather.com

Have you used rabbit strips for clousers? Amazing action the stripper love them! What's your thoughts on natural vs faux bucktail? I kinda like the action of faux just don't get all the different lengths, diameters etc as natural
@TimCammisa
@TimCammisa Жыл бұрын
I have, Brian, though I tend to add a mono loop at the rear to prevent the strip from wrapping around the shank. There are many materials that I am absolutely fine with using a synthetic...but nothing beats quality bucktail! I hope all is well, and Merry Christmas! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
