FLY TYING - HAWTHORN DRY FLY

Tied some of these up last night, took them out today and caught straight away alongside the nothing fly and the top hats. Your patterns/explanations are great Alec and really help people catch fish. Thankyou

Morning Alec 😅 straight up out of bed , right I'm messaging Alec haha. I tried to tie your Hawthorn 😅 SO mines look like Dinosaurs. Obviously wrong Aero wing ,should have used fine as you say. Could you give me a supplier of Fine Hopper legs pal. Mines look like tree branches and maybe a make of hook size 14. I've got it so wrong. Yours look fantastic...mine don't 😄

Morning James , use the tiemco areo wing, not poly prop as it's too coarse and makes it bulky . It's best to see the hopper legs in a shop so you can check your happy with the size .👍🎣🐟

Hi Alec…….Great video as usual…. I am having difficulty purchasing the Aero dry wing material…. Most suppliers have not got any… The only ones. I can find have the Aero Fine version which apparently Is recommended for size 16 to lower… Any suggestions please……looks a real good fly.. Thanking you….👍👍👍

It's that time of year for dries so it gets harder to get , get the fine , it's great for your small flies and you can double up the strands for the lager patterns 👍🎣🐟
