Well there you have it, straight from the horses mouth! Great to see the original tying and hear the history from Peter! Can’t believe I never thought of sealing the ends of the legs with super glue to stop the flexi fraying! 🤦♂️… Thanks for putting this out Alec. 👍

@it_only_counts_on_fly34732 жыл бұрын
Loved that video, thank you both! So number 2 for pink, number 8 for amber and just use olive beads for olive. For the pulling version, does the number of beads go the same as the turns of rib on the static version......so 5 beads for size 10, 4 for size 12 and 3 for size 14? And definitely size 9 gutterman beads? I ordered a load but I have nowhere near the same space as Peter to get my Flexi floss in and tight to get on the hook. What brand and model of hook does Peter use as that's probably my problem? Sorry for all the questions Alan, just sat down to get a load tied
@alecharveyfishingandflytying2 жыл бұрын
Yes that's right, you might have o check the olive beads coz you often get different sizes in the tubs, the quality control for he sze is not good, ge some 8/o if you can them there will be plenty room. Hanak 230BL wet hooks are a good model but expensive 👍🎣🐟
@it_only_counts_on_fly34732 жыл бұрын
@@alecharveyfishingandflytying thank you Alec. I've ordered some hayabusa 373's, their a medium wire hook so should be grand. Yeah Hanak hooks are excellent but yeah, pricey. Yes the beads are a pain in the backside 🤣, found a few finer hooks which made life easier til the 373's arrive
@archiebathgate91228 ай бұрын
Got size 9 beads and hanak 230 hooks, but the beads burst apart each time I pulled the flexi through. Also tried 130 hooks too - same happened. Got 3mm beads now from a supplier to try. Tied the red and have been catching on them.
