well after four years on my Epsilon 8 it looks like I'm buying one of these. Low aspect ratio? yep. easy launch? yep nice handling? yep Fun? yep!, sports car handling? yep , and keeps up with the big boys? yep I see people wrestling with high ratio High B's on launch and not enjoying thermal flying. My epsilon is so comfy, I want more of that feeling. Probably the standard version but maybe the light with standard risers. Do they do magnets on the standard risers? A great review from Carlo.

Not sure I like velcro brake stays. Won’t last a month. Agree I also would prefer maillons. The weight saving must be pretty minimal. Great review Carlo.

Hi guys! Thanks for the review. I am looking for a good "all-arounder-light-progression" wing and am coming from a Mescal 5. I am wondering if jumping to a mid B, and I would fly it close to the top recommended weight (95kg size M), could be bit too long of a jump. What do you think? Other wings I am looking at are Arriba 4 and Epsilon 9. Thank you in advance for the advice! SV

You may want to have a look at their review of the Tequila 5 (light version is the ARRIBA 4) which is described as the „ultimate progression“ wing :)

How comfortable is this glider for a low B? I am currently flying a supair leaf light, and it is very comfortable, just looking for some more performance.
@flybubblecarlo2 жыл бұрын
The Phi Tenor and Tenor Light are moderately comfortable for low B wings, a little on the sporty side. The Tenor and Tenor Light are both low B wings in terms of pilot demands but fly more like mid B wings in terms of performance (when they came out) and handling. The pilot demands of the Tenor and Tenor Light are quite similar to the original Supair Leaf and original Leaf Light, both of which we've flown quite a bit. The have a bit more performance, mainly in terms of speed and glide. The Leaf and Leaf Light climb pretty well, but lack a bit of speed/glide compared to more modern wings. Depending on your personal priorities and preferences, you might want to look at a modern low B or mid B wing for example the Phi Beat or Beat Light or the Skywalk Arak or Arak Air. (The Beat and Beat Light are exceptional mid B wings which we've been wanting to publish a review of for a while!) Hope this is helpful. Links to reviews and wings below. Thanks for the review but I am a bit confused. You say it is a mid-B while on a french review of the wing they say it is a low-B suitable for beginners as well. Any clarification on that?

Carlo if you don't mind my asking, what was your approx all-up weight flying the Medium?
@flybubblecarlo6 жыл бұрын
Hi Martin! Short answer: From 86-95 kg, mostly 90-92 kg. For a more details see long answer below! 😊
@flybubblecarlo6 жыл бұрын
Long answer: For more thorough testing--and so we can better advise our customers on which size of wing to go, for depending on various factors--I always try to fly wings at different points within their certified weight ranges, and with different harnesses, where practicably possible. With this in mind, I purposefully varied my all-up flying weight across the testing period in Colombia, min ~ 86 kg, max ~ 95 kg, mostly around 90-92 kg. I also flew with three quite different lightweight pod harnesses (Advance LIGHTNESS 3, Supair Delight 3 and Woody Valley GTO light), 4 days each, to see how differently the wing and combination felt with each. This also naturally varied my all-up weight a bit. On a related note, where possible I also try to fly as many of the sizes of a model wing as I can, varying my all-up weight with different kit and ballast to suit. I had also previously tested the TENOR light in sizes M and S with a lightweight split-leg style 'mountain' sit-up style harness in the UK, the Advance Easiness 2, which gave me an all-up of around 83-84 kg. Hope that answers your question! 😁😁😁 PS. I also swapped wings with Nancy, who mostly flew the Supair STEP (a fantastic high B XC class wing!) for side-by-side comparison. PPS. We had A LOT of FUN!! 😍

@@flybubblecarlo Thank you for your great review, testing and information on the starting weight. I am really tempted to buy a tenor light but struggling to decide on which size to take. My lightes setup is 95/96kg and heaviest approx 107kg. Which size would you recommend for xc, flatland flying and dynamic fun if possible. Thanks in advance. Daniel
