You rocked the tying instruction on this one, thanks!

Handy tail tip: Tie the short piece in first. Then fold the long piece over the top and back as the tail. Fewer tangles. With a marabou tail tie in extra and pinch off an extra piece underneath. Try it. It works and fewer tail tangles after a few fish. All the best.

Started tying about 5 weeks ago, and this seems like an easy pattern for me to master. Just ordered the materials for this from you guys can't wait! Have a bunch of nice sized ponds/lakes near me (Long Island, NY) chock full of Small /Large Mouth Bass, Carp, Pickerel, Blue Gill & Crappies, what color combos do you think would work best?

black, burnt orange and olive are good pond colors. learn how to tie a beadhead marabou mini leech too. it takes longer to say than to tie.

When do you use the mega simi seal? Additionally, do you ever use it with a dubbing loop?
@FlyFishFood3 жыл бұрын
Mega is great for bigger/longer flies. It can be great in dubbing loops if you need a thicker profile.

Have you ever thought of using the Simi Seal material to tie a Balanced Leech?
@FlyFishFood4 жыл бұрын
We do all the time. Very effective.

So it's damn near the trailor for the Cheech leech? It seems like a good one to dead drift for picky smallies!

Excellent pattern, great instructions....... too much tool noise though, messes with so many great fly tying videos.......

Thanks for the comments... Unfortunately, tool noise is probably just going to be part of these videos.

You still went clockwise (;

Wrapped my thread clockwise. spun the dubbing on the thread counter-clockwise.
