The Baron 58 is a beauty. I would gladly pitch in some $$ for av gas if someone needs a co-pilot/ride-along for a local flight from KMLE or KOMA.

This may be a ridiculous question to some, but for the sake of my customers: Does the Baron come with AC or is just air intake from the outside?
@BlueSky-qv7cd8 жыл бұрын
+Peter Tran I believe the Baron has an option of an A/C compressor mounted on one of the two engines.
@rayka25888 жыл бұрын
Of course, it has AC

This is just porn to me. Not even a pilot, but if I had a massive lottery win, I’d be buying this and learning.
@ripper87714 жыл бұрын
If you had a massive lottery winning you’d want to fly something with a turbine engine like a TBM940, or Piper M600 😃
@RaferJeffersonIII4 жыл бұрын
Ripper why’s that? Speed? I just think the baron looks cool but mainly I would like to do long distance including over water. Don’t want to be over water with one engine!
@ripper87714 жыл бұрын
rafer Jefferson iii 1. Turbine Engines are more reliable, the range of the TBM940 is superior, it’s pressurized. and although it has a service ceiling of 31,000 feet, it gets you on top of most bad weather in North America Even if you are over water in a piston twin, if it is very hot and humid and fully loaded, you will suffer terrible performance. Also if those factory engines both turn clockwise that means on take off your Baron is lethal if the left (critical engine) fails and your speed is below the critical engine speed (blue line) I trained a long time ago in a Piper Aztec E. A twin piston engine performs like a pig with an engine out and you always have to calculate the minimum en route altitude it can perform especially when near mountains! Twin pistons cannot maintain high altitudes on one engine, even turbocharged engines have a hard time! More pilots have died mishandling emergencies in twin pistons than single piston. In a single, you lose an engine and you only have one choice! Pick a spot and concentrate on landing. In a twin, if you lose a critical engine below the critical engine speed and fail to reduce power on the good engine and worse you increase it’s power, you barrel roll and end up crushed upside down.
@RaferJeffersonIII4 жыл бұрын
Ripper that’s interesting but I read about 12% of all the piper turbos every produced suffered hull loss. Surely something is up with that?

Kind of an insult. If Range Rover electrics found their way into an airplane, only A&Ps could own them.

They already make it, it's called the C-90 GTx. ;)
@FlytMike050810 жыл бұрын
nocalsteve C-90GTx is a really nice aircraft. But, I'd still rather have a 350hp Lycoming powered 58P. It's still less expensive to operate than a C90GTx

I have a friend who has a baron twin.... I believe he told me it is a 58... he also told me that it is pressurized I believe it's from the 80's does that sound right to anybody?
@nocalsteve9 жыл бұрын
***** Yes, Beech did make a B-58P that was turbocharged and pressurized. Christopher Reeve (Superman) used to own one before he bought a Piper Cheyenne turboprop.

I can’t afford the £1M price tag but I wonder if they’d accept £1,000 and an IOU saying I’d definitely pay them back when I’ve become more successful and that I promise to work really, really hard
its funny they look like the passengers are squatting in the back. I guess they kinda are.
@overcastfriday815 жыл бұрын
So we can buy a 30k car to operate at sea level with a turbocharger. And this plane operates two miles up but does not have turbos, even though it costs 1.4M, and needs to fly 5 miles high to jump over most turbulence, and wouldn't need extensive re-engineering because it could be turbo-normalized, and in a mountainous region would probably save the lives of it's passengers and crew, if it had turbos, especially if it was running on a single engine. A 40k turbo package would be just 2.8% of the price and do a lot better than 2.8% to it's cruise speed.
