Excellent video bro, man I thought this was something I could possibly do for my church but looks like its a pro's job. I'll either look at stands or wall mounting brackets lol.

Overhead rigging is a fun challenge, but its not a entry level project. Thank you for watching and stay safe.

more videos on flying speakers
@audiobuff4 жыл бұрын
I will do my best. I have a few 2 jobs over the next month that will require flying speakers. I have several other videos I still need to edit that i flew speakers in. Also I have 2 older videos that I flew speakers. Did you see those?

There is no way this will fail but the strut nuts are upside down and not used as intended. They have grooves to align in the channel edge and the spring holds it in place. If you use those for your threaded rod to the speaker, with a channel washer, you will increase your load rating, won't need as much threaded rod, and you can slide them in the channel for alignment if needed. The cone nuts for strut channel are easier to slide. You can then use the standard nuts on the purlin.

Thank you for the comments! My vendor didn’t know how to use the strut nuts either (I call them pretty boys in dockers). I’ve used them both ways and now will spend more time making sure they are installed correctly. I try to be as careful as I can when it comes to overhead rigging. By the way, what is your back ground?

@@audiobuff I hesitated to comment but you seem to care about rigging and I though the info might be helpful. My background is primarily audio/video/lighting design, installation, and service for houses of worship. I've done that for over 20 years but have also worked as a church tech director and also as a tech for major country music touring artists.

Would this work for hanging a small truss along the top of the drop ceiling? Looking to rig stage lighting along with the speakers at FOH along a 20ft span

Thanks a lot for your video. Learnt a lot from this. Highly informative and superb💪🏼. Many thanks. I was wondering sir..., Please how do I lay hold on some self-locking pulley like you have.? It's quite hard to find one online.🙏🏻 Do you please mind sharing a link to get one? 🙏🏻 Many thanks.

I got that on Amazon in 2018. I can not find it any more.

@@audiobuff Thanks sir. I also wanted you to know..., I just did a speaker install following your video as guide. And don't worry, it's safely rigged. 😄 Plus, I just got another job whereby watching your video (the EV ZXli ceiling tile video) was a God sent. Haven watched the video beforehand, I literally knew what to do right away. Right from making the speaker choice (I would have probably gone for something else if I hadn't seen your video beforehand). And I will also be installing the same speaker and with the same method too. I don't know what got you posting your videos sir, But know that at you are touching lives. 🙌🙌

Can this method be used on a wall mount bracker, specifically EV ZLX Bracket?
@audiobuff Жыл бұрын
Yes. Most speaker brackets can be wall or ceiling mounted. The challenge with this install is I had to transfer everything to the structure (not the ceiling grid). Thank you for watching!
