I bought a condo 2 years ago that had new Samsung appliances and I have not been super happy, I have had to have service on 3 out of 4 items, the microwave, the dishwasher and 3 service calls on the refrigerator! So anything but Samsung will get my vote!

The best advice I can give with appliances is to stick with the brands like whirlpool, GE, and Maytag. When I recently bought a new washer/dryer the guy told me with the extra flashy ones like Samsung are harder to have serviced should something go wrong. You can get all the great options like the refresh setting with the brands that have been around forever. Whirlpool has always been really good to me.

Agreed. Have been told to stay away from Samsung for appliances. LG makes good washer and dryers. But whirlpool, Maytag and kitchen aid are all owned by the same company. GE is good as well.

We are in the process of re-building our kitchen and we did get new appliances. I will definitely check at Home Depot and Lowe’s for appliances we went with the LG brand and I believe if you buy three or more LG appliances you do get a rebate which is really nice. The appliances work really well and we’re very happy with them so far and we’ve had our LG washer and dryer for six years now highly recommend.

DO NOT BUY GE APPLIANCES. Last year I bought GE Profile. Junk the convection/microwave doesn’t work, the gas range lets out so much heat it melts the knob and burned my finger. Was told yesterday by the GE repairman that is how the oven vents nothing you can do about it.

Best refrigerator I ever had was a Sub-Zero. I have no idea how much they cost because it was in the house when I bought it. I also like GE because I've had good luck with them. Worst refrigerator was/is Frigidaire. I am still struggling with this one - newest problem is the door handles are coming loose and the entire doors need to be taken apart to fix this. We got an LG top loading washer and a dryer from Costco about a year and a half ago and we love it!! I’d definitely recommend looking into that one!
