🚁👍🏼‼️ great clip! Damn, I can’t find the MD Heilicopters - Commercial spot again for the NOTAR Technology where a MD520 N was flying slowly backwards into a tree without crashing to show this genius invention. I saw this years ago on KZbin & it was so impressive! 🚁👍🏼‼️ If someone of you guys here in the comment section knows the link, pls let me know, thx!

Really tight quarters. Weren't you afraid you'd stick the tail rotor in the trees? I did a similar landing in Vietnam and had two crewmen on the skids to make sure we didn't back into a tree. While we were working on the landing the VC showed up and shot us down. Great landing on your part. Kudos from someone who can really appreciate what you did.

Smooth, controlled, slow and precise....always stabelized.....even whoever looks at the Spider Tracks is smiling! Goin' out is way easier though!!

@@henkeH2 because to counter the torque of main rotor, the more the collective is high the more left pedal you put, if i remember well my X-Plane 10 experience 😁

He is using high power of the main rotor while changing the blade's pitch (for quicker reaction if needed) ,so he use left ped.so

Let off survey crews! The logs were cut too wide for the 520 so I just balanced on the left skid so they could exit the aircraft!

Knew a man Can you use a Hughes 500D to toe a water skier seen it done but the toe rope getting snagged up in the tail rotor is hazardous way to land beeb beeb beeb soft landing though! Oh yeah the FFA knew about it before he did….

Anti Torque! The more you pull in the more left pedal you need! Keeps the nose going the direction you want it to! I also use left pedal to help side slip as I am going into the hole!

Thanks so much! This is my second year of doing this type of flying! I have taken special training just for confined area work! A few hundred hours of repetitive tight work will hone your skills!

An R44 would have settled on those same logs just fine, BUT they'd have to lift it out with a Huey. They have no power for that tight vertical takeoff.

Not only would an r44 easily go into and out of there, so would an r22. Either one could do it with full passengers in these conditions.
