Wow, that's pretty short for a 737. Interesting route! - Red

Thank you so much for uploading this today. Even though this video was brief, I strongly enjoyed watched it. Watching the gorgeous green hills while you were at cruising around altitude captures beauty that truly stands out.

Excellent trip report Chris! Dang, this would be equivalent of say Dayton to CVG! Also, no COVID rankings?😸😻😸

What is so sad is that the weather is not always like this. You were very fortunate to experience such great weather. What is really exciting is to have a low cloud cover and jet below them!

In college in the late 50s I used to fly Los Angeles to Portland and the plane would stop in both Oakland and San Francisco so between those two would be my shortest flight though I'm sure you couldn't buy that segment.

I watched the whole thing. This is short. Great video!

Gorgeous video views at the low flight elevation! As a kid I remember taking a similar short flight from Moline, Illinois to Peoria, Illinois on a 737. Maybe it took 20 minutes? Probably less. Super short flights are their own type of fun.

Something about the fact that they fly a 737 on such a short route is insanely cool to me..

It’s crazy. Better than taking boat between two cities I guess as in roads connect them

But a 737 is awesome. Aren’t they in the milk run route though

My family and I always get this flight and it always says we could upgrade to first class for some amount of money but it’s not worth it😅

Serious overkill on that equipment. I'm surprised that they don't have either Skywest or Horizon fly it with one of the smaller ERJ-175s. edit: Flew it in MSFS with an FSS ERJ-175 - took longer to start up than to fly it.

Fuel burn on this segment must be high since jet engines work efficiently at high altitudes--wonder if Alaska makes any money flying to these seemingly off-the-grid towns? Its possible that Alaska may receive either state or federal subsidies to cover their cost---my shortest flight ever was years ago when Continental Airlines had their "Houston Proud" shuttle between IAH-HOU,flown by a DC-9 10 model, cost was about $30 each way but free for connecting pax,I made a roundtrip just for the experience, fantastic way to have an aerial 'tour' of central Houston

I believe AK is a part of the EAS system where the govt subsidizes flights to small towns from hubs.

Next flight up Wrangell to Ketchikan and Ketchikan does have a secure terminal facility and Chris gets popcorn inside that terminal and the only way to get to that airport is by boat from the city!!! If Chris booked just the Southern Milk Run, he would've had to do two bookings, the first one the Southern Milk Run to Ketchikan then the second one Ketchikan to Seattle like theplanesguy and QFS Aviation first four legs in one class last leg in another class suchas first class then economy or economy then premium economy

the flight is even shorter if you took off and landed to the east meaning it would be just a 10 minute flight

This flight is so short you probably were in Class E uncontrolled airspace a ton especially during this milk run
