Yes you are right Jaby. Over doze of protein does effect your kidneys, if you are not working out enough. If working out, the protein gets used to heal muscles, but we must remember if he is saying it contains 62gm protein, those measurements are before it was cooked probably. So some of it is lost during the cooking process, the rest is absorbed by body or passed on to excrete accordingly.

I see many misinformed comments regarding protein intake. Below are my opinions as per my research (I am a surgeon with mild interest in bodybuilding) Average human needs around 1g/kg/day of protein for maintaining healthy nutrition. For muscle hypertrophy, a person needs to take 1.2-1.6g/kg/day (although some research suggests you can get away with up to 2.4g/kg/day) along with training stimulus. As for taking in one meals, 25-30g in one meal is ok in cases of fast absorbing products like protein powders, you can get away with more in slow absorbing foods as in mixed with whole foods and such, but just how much, we can’t say correctly as we don’t have enough research on that. As for kidneys, it is a concern for people with excessive intake, especially in people approaching middle age, hypertension, diabetes, or liver cirrhosis along with similar problems. If you plan on drastically increasing your protein intake, consult with your physician first.

I am a type 2 diabetic since 8-9 years and I am 36 now... because of that I changed my food intake towards more protein (2 egg/ragi etc)... and I am not on meds to lowering my sugar level... just maintaining my food schedule... but when I approached a doc for a skin allergy he said I need to restrict the protein intake because it will cause problem with kidney... and after reading your comment, I am now confused about how much should I have protein on daily basis...

@@arun_kumar0 You need to monitor your protein intake.. Incase you're not physically very active, 1-1.2 g/per kg of bodyweight should be fine... He is an engineer from IIT which has only 2% acceptance rate whereas the average acceptance rate of the ivy league schools is 5-7%. So you can imagine how hard is it to get into the IIT. Even john mentioned in the vlog that he could not get into it. Besides he is a pilot, a bodybuilding "champion" and he is studying law as well. I don't know if you paid attention to it. In the US, I think, everything has to be spelled out/documented which is a good and bad thing (celebrity meet clauses ) so that expectations are clear and there is no confusion for all parties involved. The bad thing is impromptu changes during the meet cannot be accommodated if it is not within the boundary of the clause. Suing culture is pretty prevalent. In India/Asia, legalities are an after thought and people are more emotionally driven in general. So any mis-happening during the meet is dealt with after it happens.
@jraj96963 жыл бұрын
Yup, in Asia, culture comes above law. Law "enforcement" is a very western concept that Asian societies, especially India, have recently started emphasizing. More so with rapid corporatization and westernization.

An average human needs 1gm/kg protein per day so you have to take around 70 -80gm per day if your weight is 70-80 kg. But you can't take it at once because you can digest maximum around 25-30gm per meal and if you take more then it damages your kidney tubules.

According to the Dietary Reference Intake report for macronutrients, a sedentary adult should consume 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, or 0.36 grams per pound. That means that the average sedentary man should eat about 56 grams of protein per day, and the average woman should eat about 46 grams.

So if one weights 80 Kgs he/she should take atleast 78-80 grams of protein everyday; yeaaah one can take 50 gram one day next 80 next day 100, it will not cause any problem but yeha roughly that much everyday atleast And here assumed that the 80 Kg person was not fat, obese... 2:08 according to medical science a healthy adult's daily diet should include amount of protein in grams equal to his weight (in kilograms ) daily. But it should be in protions and fractions. like it should not be that you consume an ample amount of protein at once, if you do so it can affect your kidney, you can have an awful bad breath which in medical term is due to Ketosis (a metabolic state which produce chemicals with unpleasant smell) and many more but this are the major....

I am not a DOC, this is what I know. If you are into body building and your body uses up your protein intake, 1.5 gm/ kg is what is required to bulk up. 1gm/ kg is natural requirement (~75% Indians are not able to achieve this(assumption)). Extra protein is just flushed out in urine. Too much protein impacts kidney functioning.
@quantumthoughts26983 жыл бұрын
25-30 grams of protein can be easily digestible in one meal. Usually bodybuilder makes their meal in a box, the amount of protein decides whether it has to be taken in one go or two or three.... Normal people would find it difficult to digest that amount of protein. Habit of digesting a protein is exact like habit of amount of food a guy is habitual to. So a gradual increase of micros are made with time in respect to workout load and necessity. If the person just casually eats protein without working out, Sudden increase in protein will harm kidney, heart, colon or might lead to a condition called "Amyloidosis" If the person is doing muscle building activities, protein will break down for amino acids, excess protein can be stored as fat, way more excess protein might won't be digestible, bulk amount of protein might start hydration problem other issues. It also depends on food taken along with protein throughout the day. Since we don't know John's workout plan and diet plan. Can't comment much.
