Nice one big like! at 04:36, they didn't play the video because sadly the NEOS are a downgrade and dont have the overhead screens so all demos are manual. Nor do they have any nice mood lighting.. Nor a full cabin of comfortable seats as you mentioned.

Hello, this was such a helpful video, l am flying in 2 days on this aircraft and boked row 13, phew happy about the nice seats. Our flight is going to be prety rammed by the loks of things and l am nervous as l have not flown since before covid. Got the window seat. I read this palne is quieter than previous models, l hope so. Thanks again. BTW not so great that they held your phone at the gate lol . more wipes please...

@@JTsJourneys we saw many 787s but unfortunately we didn't get on one... We got given a A319 on the way to. If we went on Wednesday instead of Tuesday we would have got the 787

@@matthewbanjomanwalker still a great joy ride though! Only flown through AMS once, when you get off the plane does it drop you straight into the departure lounge so you can get back onto your aircraft or swap for another flight, or do you have to exit and come back through?

The plane looks really cheap. Flew this plane A321 neo Air New Zealand. Completely different set-up and very comfortable and well padded seats. Such a huge difference.

Thank you! I'm by no means an expert on avios redemptions :( i think most people would wince at the thought of me using avios as cash on this flight.. How do you find Alaska's millage plan? Did i read they're joining oneworld soon?

@@JTsJourneys Correct! Throughout the 2010's I hacked my Alaska MP so badly that they actually flagged my account mid-trip! Basically, I was able to book incredible stopover itineraries like US-South Am-US (return!) for 12.5K, US-South Am-Europe for 20K, Europe-US-Hawaii-US also for 20K, etc. this was during the peak of Alaska-American seat inventory sharing, and obviously I was mostly on an American Airlines plane on these routes. Nowadays the queries yield dismal results, but sometimes they're there. But it was fun while it lasted!

I prefer the new economy seats actually having flown on the ex-BMI ones, the classic ones (on most the fleet) and the new Neo ones. I just find them better with the huge seat pocket and very adjustable table. They aren’t nearly as bad as people make them out to be. Nice video !

It's really a tough one for me. I think the 'normal' airbus fleet have nice well padded seat, i also like the headrest for early morning or late night flights. The neo loses that but does have at seat charging which is a plus. What are the ex BD ones like?

Thank you! No test required for the domestic flights I’ve been doing recently. I tend to always do a lateral flow just for peace of mind before I do fly though, although no legal requirement

Totally agree. This particular gate at Manchester was fitted with a standard screen which they’d applied to all gates. This one needed one on the side really… and yes, I have no idea why they took my phone. Habit I guess

I wont lie, I absolutely hate Manchester Airport when its at normal numbers. Feel like security takes way too long and there is nowhere near enough assistance for foreign travellers. Much prefer Glasgow/Newcastle. Anyways great vid JT (love the initials ;) )

At around 8:10 when he went to the lavatory did anyone else notice the seats changed from nice and padded leather to a wierd seat?

On their NEO aircraft BA have installed 'new' seats for economy, their the same seat easyJet use which is a huge step backwards IMO. The nice padded ones towards the front are designed to be used for the Club Europe / Business class which can be increased/decreased depending how many passengers have paid for that class of travel.

BA is literally like an Easyjet flight service now. It is no longer a full service carrier on short haul flights anymore. No frills and low quality. Is it cheap though? What is the pricing for BA European flights does anyone know? Also, it would make much more sense for BA to differentiate itself from Easyjet, Ryanair and other low cost airlines in Europe, with more premium quality seats, in flight entertainment, complimentary drinks and ordered meals. Otherwise you are just are competing on price and no one can compete with Ryanair on price…

They've certainly upped their game over the past year. They do now offer the water & snack on short haul again which gives them a point of difference. Their Neo seats though are the same as Easy (all be it with power). They seem to be re focusing their short haul product which was initially designed to feed into LHR, but with a redesigned Gatwick operation and increased point to point out of Heathrow, it could improve.

no problems, things seemed to work fine. The only time i had a problem was on a flight to JFK where i had to get the boarding pass at the airport (4S) Did you get everything sorted?

I don't think BA are social distancing on their aircraft, so if there's a spare seat they'll fill it. Around 230 seats on their A321 NEO

it's much easier when the flight isn't very full, unfortunately most airlines (understandable) aren't blocking the middle seat; not that really makes much of a difference

BA Club world not good value on shortall. Especially, in COVID 19 world. Seats all the same and gone is the table in the middle seat. Also, sandwich 🥪 in a bag. It’s a joke and not great value. Stick with economy at the moment.
