What an incredible surprise for those in attendance if this was kept secret. Wish I would have heard of this cruise. I live in WI and it would have been just what the Dr. ordered. Flying Colors will record a new album in 2017 and this is the last year of DP live in concert (50 years), so maybe more in the future. Talk about being busy, Steve Morse will also be touring with the Dregs and some dates with the SMB.

It was a fairly well guarded secret. First, I saw a tweet by Pete T, with the location "Florida", several days before the cruise. So, I was suspecting we might get some Transatlantic. Then I saw Casey in line boarding, so I figured Flying Colors might be a possibility. I heard rumours that Steve and Dave were spotted, the day we left port. But that's it! Everything else was speculation! Mike did announce though that his "50th Birthday Bash" would consist of performances spanning his musical career. CTTE 2018 is already open for booking... Not all artists have been announced yet.

Incredible. With the schedules these guy's keep (ex: Steve Morse), it must have been an effort to pull that off. It shows the appreciation and respect other musicians have for Mike. What a great idea for a cruise and it's something I definitely would have done. I was fortunate to see Steve with The Dregs several times in the late 70s/early 80s and it instantly changed the way I looked at music and my appreciation for virtuosos.
