@Tim did you mention for DJI drones in particular that DJI actually restricts flight of the drone (they control whether the drone can actually fly or not) based on it's location? The DJI fly-safe website allows you to view where these restricted areas are, and allows you to 'unlock' these zones based on certain criteria.

This information is misleading. Yes, these are EASA rules but EASA only serves as a default template which can be overridden by each european country. For example, in Italy drone insurance is mandatory for everyone and max flight height is 70m not 120m for non-commercial flights.
@SlipstreamCreativeAgency
@SlipstreamCreativeAgency 5 ай бұрын
Yes, if you watch the video carefully I clearly say check each individual country for local rules. Also be aware that the rules everywhere constantly change and get updated. Just saying, but thank you for taking the time to comment.Safe flying.

You are right about the rules different in every European country and it is also difficult to find them in every state you go…. But for the max height in Italy you are wrong. No difference for hobby or commercial flight, and the max height is always 120mt if not shown differently by the official d-flight maps.

However the email says registration does not imply does not imply registration in the UAS operator registry. National Standard Stages (STS-ES) refers to Training Entities and ES is for spain. That's not you. Not sure but I would try the OPERATOR REGISTRATION first. However, going forward any future claims will require you to provide valid permissions for the respective country that you are flying in and it is the operators responsibility to check this and obtain the necessary permits before flying."
