LONG FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA (via Alaska Airlines to LAX and then Virgin Australia to MEL). Sky and I moved from the USA to Australia! We'll be here skateboarding and having fun until March 2015. This video is a short compilation of our flight and first moments in Melbourne. I was very, very tired after we got off of the flight and through customs so didn't end up filming much immediately... just went to sleep. x)
The next video I'm going to be uploading will feature more than a glimpse of what Melbourne has to offer!
If you haven't already done so go ahead and click subscribe and then let me know in the comments what you'd like to see more of here in Australia!

You definitely should! It's one of the few remaining places that are actually pretty easy for Americans to get access to. :) And we flew out from Portland, Oregon, then to LAX of course :P

It’s a great place but every one thinks all ways go to the big city’s it’s the other way around places like Sydney,Melbourne Perth and Brisbane are all the city’s that are the most expensive and more bad stuff goes down I don’t no about America but every teenager that just turned 18 comes out on a Friday because they hade a long week of work u will have drunks walking on groups every where. cheapest house u can get in Melbourne and Sydney are 1.2m so choose wisely where to live and don’t be a dumbass.

@AlexBerish
@AlexBerish 8 жыл бұрын
Tyler Brown Hey man, no worries at all! Depends where you stay of course, but I eventually got a place about 2km outside the Melbourne CBD, just a flatshare (my own room in a shared apartment) for $300/week (Australian dollars, so that's like $220 USD). Sounds like a lot but if you're working there too it's pretty manageable. For cheaper options, a lot of people will do roomshares where it's like a dorm style thing for maybe $160-$200 AUD/week in the CBD. If you're travelling around, most hostels will be like $30/night except during busy holiday seasons. Let me know if you've got any more questions! Haha

The one and only thing I wish is that this video was much, much longer. Trying to cram everything into 7 minutes is just crazy! It's a case of overload, and whether you can see or not, it would be so much nicer if this video could have lingered a lot more, especially during those flights! It's just weigh too short. Have you got longer videos of those flights? I really hope so, and please leave out the music! I'd like to enjoy the flying experience for what it is. We move weigh too fast in this rediculously fast-paced society, and it's no wonder people are dying of heart attacks and strokes at middle-age. We must slow down and take in whatever we can and savor each day and event much, much more, because we will be wiser for it. If we take everything at such a hectic pace, we will not learn anything, and I'm afraid we're becoming so dumbed-down that we simply can't appreciate just being with each other for more time, and that's such a sad state. If we live in the now but don't learn anything, what will be said for the next generation, if there even is one? Just think about that. What if you couldn't see? How would you want to live your life: as one without, or as one who lives every moment and takes everything in with all four other senses? I say this, because I've been totally blind all my life, and I've never seen so much disregard for one another and for life as I notice today, what with everybody's alarming short attention spans. What's worse is that we're all being lied to by Psychiatrists who prescribe mind-altering and mood-altering drugs that are literally destroying our souls, which is why all these school shootings! It's also no wonder we're so tired! We're constantly overstimulated by hundreds of visual, audio and tactile sights, sounds and knocks that we can't be silent and still for even 5 minutes without getting bored. If you want to really see how someone can be peaceful even in the most disturbing situations, check out the monks of the Egyptian desert or a person who just takes 30 minutes a day to walk on the beach or in the park. People who observe fasting times along with certain feasts with meaning are so much more able to take in more of the beauty we share in common with nature and the world around us. By the way, I'm typing this using text-to-speech software, so I can hear what I'm typing. This way, I can correct my mistakes as I go, and I still proofread what I've typed, just in case I missed any. I really enjoy listening to videos where people interact with one another like yours, so please, do enjoy making them, and I really hope you know I mean well. Thanks, and peace!

How do you rate melbourne compare to other cities in the states?
@AlexBerish
@AlexBerish 9 жыл бұрын
Melbourne to me feels very much like Portland, Oregon, but of course with a bit of a different weather situation and Melbourne is 4x bigger. (about 4.2 million people in the city area I think) There is always something big going on too.. Oftentimes city-wide events, but just as often, small, creative once-off things as well. I absolutely love Melbourne, it's definitely my favourite city in Australia haha

@AlexBerish 8 жыл бұрын
+Jasey Rae Hey Jasey, all you have to do to get the visa is meet the requirements. That is, you have to be over 18 and have graduated high school. Then, if you're American you just apply online on immi.gov.au - it will let you work and travel in Australia for 12 months
