Flying from Tampa To Zürich on a HUGE Edelweiss A340 ✈︎ TripReport|

Decent trip report but a few things. 1 "The flying pencil is the 757-300 its the longest single isle jet made hence the pencil reference. The A340-600 is the longest single story dual isle plane made. The take off is extremely long on an A340-300 due to it being very underpowered, it also has one of the shallowest climb outs due to its lack of power the 340-600 which replaced it has much more power and larger high bypass engines these engines are CFM56 from the 737s

I live in Tampa and I go to the runway once a week to watch this plane come in for a landing. When the wind is south and the plane comes in from the north on the right runway, the edge of which is closer to the road. It's a spectacular sight.

I went on an airport train in Dallas and I got stuck between the train doors as it was closing. I thought I was about to die but other people around me pushed the door open and saved me. It was a very scary experience to say the least. Haven’t been on a train since then! 😅 Very nice trip report though! Switzerland is a very nice country which I have been to and has so much natural beauty! The Zürich airport is really nice! 🤩🇨🇭

I work on this aircraft at TPA it maybe a good flight for the passengers but this is a nightmare of an aircraft to work on and second the reason why the aircraft used 95% of the runway to take off is they have put A321 engines on to a A340 what is crazy

Little known fact, despite having the same wing as the a330, the a340-400 can carry more fuel due to it's wingflex capabilities being able to take a higher load due to the extra no. 1 and 4 engines
