Thanks for, as usual, an entertaining and informative video. Won't stop me continuing to tell my grandkids that the origin of the phrase "paying cash on the nail" was from Bristol. First thing was to explain what "paying on the nail meant... Probably having to explain to the next grandchild what "cash" is...

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN, REALLY ENJOYED THIS ONE. BRINGS BACK MEMORIES OF LOSING MY SCOOTER 🛵 OUTSIDE THE EXCHANGE AFTER WATCHING THE WHO. I FOUND MY SCOOTER IN QUEENS SQUARE UNDAMAGED!? THE ARCHITECTURE YOU EXPLAINED, MADE ME REALLY THINK THAT I HAVE “ BEEN LOOKING! BUT NOT SEEING” THANKS AGAIN TONE

At breakneck speed, your droll delivery, a summation seemingly saturated with facts, innuendo and apparent myth, was riveting. Thanks, again, for providing provoking prods, to view vestiges of yesteryear.

Totally agree with you about the Exchange, but didn't know why until you explained .

Aged 16 (I think) I went with friends to the Exchange once in the 60s, to watch a rather minor group called the Move, ripping off the Who's more nihilistic antics by ending their set by smashing up their equipment. Or was it televisions? Anyway, I do remember it was extremely cold and my legs shook uncontrollably in thier white flairs. As usual, thanks for some valuable enlightenment.

Superb as ever - I’m not a fan of the outside either it’s a bit meh - but I do enjoy wandering around the interior - it’s a fab place to mooch about 😉👍

I've always wondered about the rough brick work at the base of buildings in Bath, thanks for the nugget of knowledge!

I _was_ going to agree with your point that the rustication is too much because of the lack of perspective. But then I remembered Oxford and how it seems harmonious there. I think that it's because there's so much of it due to it being a seat of learning. The buildings adhere to the classical rules in which rustication is the foundation...

Largely agree. Ashlar at ground level might show up any damage but the Exchange's design doesn't prevent this

This time I totally disagree with your aesthetic opinions here, (which is unusual!) but as always I'm grateful for another well researched and interesting video. Cheers!
