Where did they find so many Spitfires? When you see them flying in formation you can imagine they are going off to fight the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain.

Sadly, i think only one of the Spitfires on that Airshow was used in Battle of Britain. All the others are younger Versions

Some great planes in this video. Only down side is the video settings, too high fps, need to lower to 24fps unless doing slow mo shots.

Thanks for the advice!

My choice would be the Corsair. It’s like taking an axe to a knife fight.

I prefer the Bearcat. Or an old Spitfire...or a Curtiss P40...or a P47 or all of them 😊

Hi Mgrg, thx for the ideo, unfort. i couldn't come to Legends again this year!! Is it my impression or planes were quite far away from the public? (compared to other recent editions)

I indeed found that planes were far away and was a bit disappointed, but I can't compare with previous editions as it was my first one :)

Mgrg i remember standing in the tank museum bank in 2011, with planes taking off and turning quite close the public...goosebumps!

Sadly since the Shoreham Airshow crash in 2015 (I was there and saw it all from quite close by ) which killed 11 people standing outside the main gates, all airshows now have the planes even further away. I have been going to airshows for many years and it's just not the same anymore. At Duxford they are so far away as to make it pointless attending these days.

After the tragic accident at the Reno air races a couple years back all air race or flying display venues need to keep the audience way back.

Very beautifull Planes...but the BF109 with MerlinEngine is a Horror...

Indeed!

Just a product of its times.. airframes were relatively easy to build under licence, but after the defeat of Nazi Germany DB engines were hard to come by, but there were plentiful RR Merlins.. Hey presto, Buchon..
