In this video I fly on the very first A321 delivered to Delta Air Lines that was subsequently dedicated to one of it's crew members on the delivery flight. I'll take you with me step-by-step from LGA to MCO - Peter Masella style!

Another great video. I love, love, love your videos. And let me express yet again what a difference it has made on my own flying fears. Understanding the process is so helpful that way. You eliminate the “unknowns”, plus your positive outlook on all of the things that occur also alleviates the anxiety of the process. Flying has become much more pleasant….and I ALWAYS choose the window seat for the same reasons that you do. I have my face in the window for nearly the entire flight. Thank you for what you do here on KZbin. I agree with some of the other comments….your videos are the best, by far! Keep up that great narration!

Another great video Peter, and the sound clip of John Kennedy's inauguration was very touching. There is a horse riding academy on the Brooklyn side of Jamaica Bay, if you ever ride there the trail takes you right up to the Canarsie VOR transmitter in the middle of the woods!

I flew into MCO at night in my Mooney and it was a great experience. I must admit that a front widow view far exceeds the side window view. But I will take any view than no view. Love your videos Peter.

Your narration is always appreciated as it explains the complexity of air traffic separation nicely. You mentioned taking the train to airside. Your video showed passing over the Brightline High-Speed railway. Trains will depart MCO beginning September 1 for Miami with intermediate stops. Eventually Brightline plans on building west to Disney and Tampa although there is currently a dispute going on with Disney regarding the route. Brightline is totally private-funded.

Awesome flight, as usual. 🙂 It's interesting that the Delta A321 you flew on has a different type of "winglet" compared to the American A321 that you showed landing at La Guardia. In April, I flew on an A321 for the first time--an American Airlines jet that looked just like the one in your video. I'm enjoying trying different aircraft, and I also took my first flight this spring on a Delta Boeing 757-300, which was fantastic! I'm trying to make a plan to fly on a Delta 767, too, as I know these older Boeings won't continue flying forever. First I have to fly from Seattle to LAX, which I might be able to do on a new Delta A321neo (!), then take the 767 to NYC JFK! 😀

Peter; excellent vid. Most of the International flights to Europe out of JFK are overnighters. They leave betw 8-11pm. There is a long line once you leave the gate. To Rome, we got in line to take off at 9:30 pm and wheels up was 11pm. To London, and then another time to Amsterdam, similar; 1 hour from "at taxi spot" to wheels up, with 12-15 planes ahead. The boundary betw. Queens (NYC) and Nassau is marked by Cross Island Parkway; which becomes Belt Parkway in Queens and Brooklyn, and when taken north separates to I95 (to Boston!) and/or Triborough Bridge and Cross Bronx (to Yankee games!.)

Love the A321 on Delta but the A220 is my favorite. Can’t wait for the A220-300. Also love that intricate dance takeoff and landing between 4-22 and 13-31.

On the other side of the plane when you were seeing Atlantic City, my town would have been visible, Vineland NJ. The landmark to look for would have the Maurice River that empties into the Delaware Bay. The fixes are Cedar Lake VOR, and near Villas intersection. Safe travels.

Great job Peter! MCO started as McCoy AFB, hence the confusing airport identifier. Soon before I was hired at Delta there was a ramp worker who hated cold weather and bid for an opening at ORD thinking Orlando. He had a miserable winter in Chicago (formerly ORchard FielD) before he had another bid, this time he double checked the airport identifiers carefully!
