Flying Scotsman whistles

The famous Flying Scotsman locomotive has two whistles - here they are in my hand at the National Railway Museum in York, UK while the locomotive is being overhauled.

Most locomotives in the states have chime whistles, I've seen up to 6 chimes on bigger locomotives.

Chime whistles are SUPER common in the US, South America, Canada, China, Germany, Japan etc..

Wow! A step-top! That's not very common in England, eh? The only chime whistles I've heard of are the A4 Crossby 3 chime flat-tops! I didn't know the Scotsman had a step-top! Those are more common here, in America, I know that for sure!

No it's the south African chime that she wore in the early 2000s

I think the South African Chime? (It looks the same to RH&DR Black Prince) sounds better than the standard LNER whistle.
