Flying squirrel barely alive... then something amazing happens! ❤️

An adult female flying squirrel was found, barely alive, by a Good Samaritan. Her eyes were closed, sealed shut with infection, and her head swollen to twice its normal size. A dark red puncture mark was found under her jaw, possibly a bite, probably infected. She was in a coma-like state for days, unconscious and unable to take fluid or food by syringe, and for the first two days, a few drops of formula were all that could be given, and only by placing them on or near her lips. In addition to hydration, antibiotics and seizure meds, she was also given a name. She was named after a woman who fought tirelessly against adversity and hardship, and who, despite everything stacked against her, simply refused to give up... A champion of freedom and a fighter in the war for civil rights and basic human decency... she was named Rosa.
The rehabber began treatment immediately upon receiving her, but it was a miracle she had even survived that first night. Her body was limp, her breathing shallow and labored. For days, the only movement came from the frequent seizures that caused her body to violently be thrown around the incubator, or the milder ones which presented as grinding her jaws. It was also discovered that she was a nursing mother, although despite the best efforts by dedicated citizens, her babies were sadly never found.
Aggressive treatments slowly started paying off, as Rosa was eventually able to open her eyes and slowly begin to move. Her neurological deficits became painfully clear, as after a great deal of therapy, she could only just spin in circles. Treatment continued, in addition to love and patience, and prayers from a community of supporters now closely following her story. Everyone watched and prayed for a miracle....
Then one day, something incredible started to happen....
