So once you get the boarding pass, you pretty much have a seat. Otherwise, they'll send you ahead with a boarding pass that has no seat number but even then you should get on. When the seat number disappeared from the app, it almost certainly meant they were trying to fit you in a higher cabin. Has happened to me twice. So it's a good sign usually on premium standby if you ask me. Once, I did have a boarding pass without a seat number when flying from DXB to LHR. The check-in agent said that you are accepted for the flight, but the seat would be decided at the gate.

Got premium economy once and offloaded and picked up the following day in econony once so not too bad.

hey thanks! So you can book STANDARD or PREMIUM standby, it's about £100 extra for long hauls each way, it's probably worth if you fancy a business class seat :)

They will either give you a option of getting a jump seat (flight attendant seat) or get you on the next best flight. They do their best.

Reply above is pretty accurate. You can only travel in other airlines if you’re the staff, not the nominated ones. If that flight is full, usually the airline you booked will handle the changes, but you can also change it/cancel it and find alternatives, which could be easier

You don't need to work there, you need to know someone who does. I use the hotline tickets he mentioned all the time, because my flatmate works for them, so I can use them. But I work for one of their competitors 😂😂 I find that amusing

I once got a flight from Madrid for €30 when it was retailing for €250, but it was a route with multiple flights a day, a flight like TLS, I got one for €40 but it retails for €55. It just depends where and when you go (I booked both as one way tickets Europe to UK, which is why I'm using euros)

its usually £120 one way long haul from London and a lot less (like £50-80) from the destination back to London in Standard Standby. Add about £100 to that for premium standby, so £220 London to Rio, £150 back from Rio in premium standby, more or less that. Cheap.
