Mr. Rochfort, I wanted to let you know what an absolute treat it is to watch these videos. I watched the trip across the Atlantic a while back and I'm having a blast with these IFR videos in Europe.

Dick, im a keen PPL and LSA instructor for the last 20 years, i never fail to enjoy watching your instruction videos, a master at work. I try to use some of your many tips when i instruct. I particularly love the tip to leave something annoying in the cockpit, he couldn't get his head around it at first but i totally got what you said and why you said it. Brilliant. When i make my millions and buy my Meridian ill be sure to call you for quality instruction on how to fly it with ease and perfection. Cheers Stu

Hi Stuart, Thanks for the kind words. My mentor was a curmudgeonly old ex Air Force pilot who flew Air Force II when it was a B707. He is the one that showed me that trick and hundreds of others. Enjoy... fly safely - train often. DR

The four of us are just curious. Who places the label of Master Instructor on a person. There are 3 long time instructors here who has never heard of it.

CaptainArt777 Hi Captain Art - There are currently two national organizations providing Master ratings. My Master accreditation is from The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI). The process is similar to the professional certifications you might find in the medical or financial industries. It is very involved and it is not likely that part-time instructors will have the level of activity required to qualify. Furthermore, a Master CFI must re-qualify every two years. I have been a Master CFI for 10 years now. It helps my potential customers know of my full-time commitment to providing excellent training. You can learn more about the NAFI Master Program here: @File/new%20master%20files%203-20-12/Revised%20NAFI%20MFI%20Application%2012-19-13.pdf Thanks for asking. Dick Rochfort, ATP, CFII Thanks Dick. These guys where Instructors way back when as they where building time. All retired and in their 60. One flew for United and one for Fed Eex. Both flew the heavies. The other open his own flight school and flew charter as well for the Navy. Thanks for taking the time and I will advise them.

CaptainArt777 A lot of us old guys (I am 65) never heard of the Master program. It been around for about twenty years now. I became a full-time flight instructor in 1992 (a second career) and began looking for ways to improve my offerings. Additional ratings, research and study and the Master program have, I think, all served me well in this regard. I thank all of you for your service to the aviation community. DR
