Nice demonstration of what it can do! I really like the easy build no glue idea and if you price out a decent foamy with electronics it's a pretty good deal for what you get IMO. I already have the same batteries that the Ultrix 600 uses so it's very tempting!

Just bought & built one myself; 3 flights on it so far, still trimming & tweaking it, but VERY impressed with it so far. Haven't tried any of the extreme aerobatics you were doing with it yet, mainly because the days I took it out were dark & cloudy enough to make orientation difficult; just did some very basic stuff like reverse 1/2 Cuban 8's, split - S's, stall turns & loops. VERY EASY to take off & land; it gets off the ground (grass in the case of the park I tried it in) in about 5 ~ 10 feet at something like 1/2 throttle, very easy to fly slowly, & slows down to a walk for landing, again, 5 ~ 10 feet or less to land. Thinking of adding lighting to it for flying on days like the ones I tried it in (hint to Horizon Hobbies; come out with a plug - in lighting kit for it with some of the cool strobing effects like the kit for the UMX Ultrix has!).

I've been pondering getting one of these or something like it , to learn 3d flight , this one is definitely at the top of the list , I know I'm gonna tear it up " learning " to 3d fly , just wondering if it gonna be coast efficient , repairs / replacement parts conspired to other brands ?
@old_coastie2 жыл бұрын
As a long time flat foam flyer... It should be, most flat foam manf. do NOT offer replacement parts, you have to buy the whole kit, Course most of us just cut some more foam... One thing you will want for repairs is a tube of Beacon Foam Tac...

@@old_coastie Foam Tac is amazing, just buy a case so you have it lol

Help - a question please - the Spektrum 850 3s battery recommended- in the Horizon web site here is a quote about that battery - " Please note - Spektrum IC2 connectors and charge leads ARE NOT compatible with EC2 connectors" and if you read the comments about that battery people say it will not connect to their chargers. It appears you must buy an adapter in order to charge it. Can you confirm this? What adapter is needed ? It this is true then it seems you must use the Spektrum battery with its ic2 connector and that is a $30 battery. I already have other batteries I would like to use. So does this mean I need an adapter to go from the ic2 to either an xt60 or ec3 that I already have?
@propgear1232 жыл бұрын
Either that or change out the connector and swap it to 1 that ya batteries have on them
@rackmasterh Жыл бұрын
Or just use an Ice to just adapter and pay half as much for your batteries

If I got into RC Planes, this would be the one for me because it's good for beginners and pros. But $200 isn't pocket change, still good price for the Hobby.🍀Fun to watch you fly, seems to cut like a hot knife on butter.
@abundantharmony Жыл бұрын
If you can't afford a $200 aircraft, this is the wrong hobby for you. You're looking at upwards of $600 for decent foam planes. This is a rarity that you get quality like this for only $200.

Seems to fly heavy for this general class of plane. Will likely best suit outdoor bigger-space flying. There is such a niche. Gyros on these size planes can do wonders for all weather flying.

Depends on what you are comparing it to... Did you NOT watch the vid of it flying inside a basketball court? Been flying this type of flat foam for the last 10 years... It ain't no Clik or F3P plane but it sure ain't no heavyweight either.

@@RC-xg9cw you can’t. You can find kits for around $80 dollars without electronics. By the time you add everything in a decent plane with run about $220-240 with you putting it together. This is a BNF, and you can have it flying in 10 minutes. It’s a good price for this model.
