Obviously you can't do the double launch to trick people, however they're great for those top down rear aspect launches with radar off from range. Try keeping your radar in HMD for most of the game and only lock when you want to go for an ER launch, the less RWR warnings you give the better you can sneak up on people

@@MiGanFox3 The radar although helpful to find enemy’s does not need to be active all the time. And after watching your clip on positioning I’ve started to implement a couple of the tips and tricks you provided and it’s worked good for me thus far. The stock grind hasn’t been as painful as before 😂

The 5F was my favourite jet before the J-10, and I still think it's better than the SU27. The mirage is much more forgiving thanks to the airframe, the margin of error in those close range scenarios isn't as big with the 5F

R-77 is one of few strengths is that you can launch it get to nothing unstantly. If youre launching it fast enough, it can hit a target 60 or 75 degrees to your nose neearly 4-5km away. Im always pushing enemy team as much as I can and launch only after enemy missiles go active on me. Thats the only way to get R77 somewhat reliable in BVR. And when you that close 7-13km, r73s are also becoming a good option. Sometimes im getting my kills by r73s and r27ets even through im flying just below the contrails. I just never felt that launching R77 is my best option. Sometimes its better to fire ET, then telling all of them that im there

Absolutely, the ET is incredible weapon at top tier for the unsuspecting If you don't already try the double launch trick, if you have someone who knows you're there, but they might be already close to a notch. I'll often fire an R-77 first and then an ET, a lot of people will just tunnel vision on the RWR warnings and not realise an IR is coming, thanks to the individual flare and chaff binds a lot of people won't think to flare just in case

Great video, brother. But how do you manage to get those HMD lock and missile seekers primed so quickly. When I spam the launch secondary weapon button. The missile just won't fire. Also, can you make a video on your keybinds and settings, cheers.

There's a community post not long ago with my keybinds. The HMD locks there's 2 things I suppose, first is normally to switch to HMD I go radar off > Lock target (this switches your radar back on into HMD mode and tries to lock someone, if it fails then you're just on HMD mode as usual) To fire I have a separate bind to lock the missile (Z) then spacebar is my fire bind. I don't know if this makes a difference or not it just feels more intuitive for me

use HMS IR for r73 & r27et, lighting them up with hard lock PD gives them a warning. Could also use TWS.

Yeah I know, I don't really bother with HMS IR, I can usually get the IR lock regardless. If I'm doing the double launch 77 + ET trick obviously I need to hard lock them. All depends on the situation The F-16 about 3 minutes in I was locking considering launching a 77, but I changed my mind given he was rear aspect at pretty close range I figured he'd struggle to flare it. Same with the Flanker shortly after, he already knew I was coming in so I wanted the option of launching 77 if he flared the ET depending on his aspect Guy at 10:20 I'm obviously doing the double launch

would you happen to know what my issue is? when i lock someone up with hard lock or tws lock, i turn my missile on and the seeker pops up like normal, but then it just turns back off, still maintaining a lock and all but it just turns off..

No worries, the Italian MiG-29 is essentially the same as the Russian & German variants. The R-27ERs are extremely strong but after they're gone you're quite vulnerable in the up tiers

how are you fairing against the new F15 E or J in the flanker?

Hard to say for certain so far, you'll usually have some of the new F-15s on both teams and they end up trading with each other. In the hands of someone who knows what they're doing you theoretically can't touch it with a Flanker, but that's only if they keep you at range and at range fox-3s are super easy to defeat anyway so it's more of a stalemate in my eyes Realistically most players are going to take their max range launches and rtb (I've already killed a few F-15Es either running away or on the runway with an R-27ET). Then any players who keep pushing into the middle of the map completely negate their speed and range advantage anyway Basically if I came up against say Defyn, Bad Karma or someone like that with me in a Flanker, them in an F-15E I don't think I'd stand much of a chance (whether I would stand a chance against pilots like those 2 is unlikely anyway to be fair🤣). But realistically 95% people aren't going to understand how to get the best out of it if that makes sense? I'll try and talk about it in the SU-34 video I'll put out next week

@@MiGanFox3 Looks like the insane speed was nerfed. can still go like mach 1.8 tot 2 but no more 2.5 it seems. atleast in some videos ive seen dont have the plane yet. the SU-27 is my favorite plane so glad to see some love for it.
