Wow, I didn't know you guys had fish and chips in Canada! Americans most likely think it's some fish with potato chips 😄 (crisps to us in England). Great video, love the channel. Your Mum is an absolute angel! And it was fascinating hearing all about your English grandfather, flying with the RAF then the RCAF. From the old world to the beautiful new world. Greetings from (the original) Durham, England.

Depends on your family I guess. I wouldn’t dare be alone in the air with any of mine. 😊

This was really fun! Thanks for sharing. I love Harry’s pictures as they bring back memories of my early flying. Far from my first airplane, but my first logged hours of instruction were in a PT-26 Cornell (enclosed canopied PT-19). An unusual airplane in Florida.

Thank you for watching and for the comments. I plan to do a full episode just on Grandpa Harry in the future but both Mom and I need to do some more research first. I am the benefactor of his old log books and the album from his flying days which is amazing. Now it is just a matter of sitting down and sorting through it all to cross reference photos with logbook entries and pull in what other data we have as well to tell the bigger story.

Used to fly to Killarney for fish & chips back in 2014, glad it’s still up & running. Herbert’s was the place if I remember right.

You got it right. Herberts still makes amazing fish & chips!

Man, it’s been years since I’ve been up to Killarney for some fish and chips! Last in a 242 Zlin last time. Was so always so great!

Herbert's Fisheries is still there and still worth the trip.

Nice...first time I tried landing there, on my first cross country. I was long and on the go around, left, came awfully close to the quartz mountain lol...when your used to a 200 by 4000 foot runway you get fooled by the smaller runways. Thats the Hubert's fishing boat. Yup best white fish ever!

I find that CPT2 is always a little gusty, short and that approach over the trees on either end a little challenging. Definitely worth it for the fish however!
