Hi there! Thank you for this video. I have a similar question as below. I will be flying from the US through Istanbul and on to Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan is my destination and I have a layover in Istanbul. Do I need to have a separate health certificate and pet requirements for Turkey as well or just my destination country? The vet here is trying to tell me I need all the requirements for Turkey as well even though I just have a layover. Any insight would be helpful! Thank you!

If you’re not leaving the airport in Istanbul then you wouldn’t need separate documents. No one checked our pet’s documents when we had our layover in Istanbul except for his pet passport when we were showing our boarding pass when we were boarding the plane. Hope all goes well on your travel!

Thank you. I have a question that I hope you can answer: during the lay over, after you exited in Istanbul airport, did the Turkish authorities asked for a specific health documents because you landed in Turkey? Did that make sense?

We were on a connecting flight so we didn’t have to provide any documents, everything was already checked in Dublin. We just had to show our dog’s passport when we were boarding the plane. You’ll have to show the health documents once you land in your final destination, not in the country of your connecting flight. Hope I’ve answered your question! 😊

Thanks for the video. Hi can you please tell me how much Mochi weighs? My dog + carrier came to 8.3kg. she is a bit squished in the carrier. She is a Yorkshire terrier. I hope that they will not stop us at the check in 😓

@@mariaparnis7200 Mochi weighs around 6.5kg and his carrier weighs 1.3kg. When we travelled, the total weight was 7.8kg. But a month before our travel, his weight + the carrier was more than 8kg. So we had to adjust his diet to eating once per day and walking him at least three times a day, making him do a lot of exercises through playing etc. I’m not sure how strict they are, we were also anxious about the weight limit so we made sure he was below the required weight limit 😅

Thank you for replying, the carrier had an extra insert with cushioning inside which could be removed and I didn't notice 😂😂 anyway.... We're at 7.91 now and she has kind of more extra space. She still can't stand up inside the carrier though. But she laid down and was content.

Primo’s (our maltese) rabbies vaccine expires on November 2025, so we had it updated last Sept.28,2024. Kindly help me check on what ideal date to administer the following test and vaccination: *Booster shot (DHPPI) *titre test *tapeworm treatment (internal &external ) *VET HEALTH CERTIFICATE *INTL VET CERTIFICATE (export permit from Italy’s Regional PET registry) Appreciate your help with securing those documents as i am quite confused and worried that i may not be able to get it done correctly and properly. @@itsmaetrisha2700 hindi po, we can’t find a carrier din po that’s 23x30x40 kaya we just put that dimensions when applying online for the pet in cabin option. The carrier we used is a soft shell and the dimensions are close naman po to the required dimensions. They don’t check the measurements po at the airport 😊

Hi, the carrier Mochi uses is the Trixie Airline Carrier Wings (www.trixie.de/en/dog/on-tour/bags/airline-carrier-wings-1001088736-1001092810). The size of the carrier is 28 × 23 × 46 cm which is slightly bigger than the requirements of Turkish Airlines but the staff won't mind if the carrier is slightly bigger as long as the weight of the carrier and the bag doesn't exceed the maximum 8kg limit and if the bag looks like it can fit under the seat :)

Do they also accept pets in the cabin in the business class ?

A lot of airlines don’t but I’m pretty sure they do with Turkish Airlines. You can pay for the carriage fee on the app. But always call them to make sure they’re allowed in the cabin on that day because only a max of 2 dogs can travel on the same day/plane.
