This classic wooden bobsled coaster was built in-house and took over seven years to complete. It is inspired and modeled after the like-named rides from the 1930s and the layout is similar to the original one that was built for the 1933-1934 World's Fair and stood at Riverview Park in Chicago, Illinois from 1935-1967.
Knoebels Amusement Park & Resort is located in Elysburg, Pennsylvania.

Who cares it isn't the most thrilling in terms of intensity? It's legit fun and a unique experience. There's always going to be another copycat steel coaster that will be constantly compared to another copycat steel coaster. Not every coaster needs to reach for the sky. Knoebels is not a corporate Six Flags or Cedar Fair park, and that's why people love it. Their coasters are more humble and down to earth. Their charm is old school rides that still pack a punch, and that is exactly the appeal of coasters like this and Phoenix.

Spot-on !! Some people don't understand the historical significance of that ride and that is was over 70 years since the last wooden one was built . I'm willing to bet that it rides better than the old originals . The ones saying it's not exciting or it's short & boring are the ones who would complain about Leap The Dips not being thrilling enough .

Probably my favorite ride at Knoebels...I remember when they started building it in 07 and going back year after year and seeing little progress being made. Finally got to ride it in 2016 and it was worth the wait

First time I rode Flying Turns was at its premiere and I was underwhelmed. I rode it this year and it's a much better experience. It's still not the most thrilling ride in the world but it's a lot more fun and exciting than I remembered. It's worth doing once if the line is short because of its poor capacity.

Great video. Looking forward to my ACErs review after tomorrow. Flying Turns was my mom’s favorite ride at Euclid Beach in her childhood. She talked about it being a big thrill. Wish I was there to ride it in her memory.

It is awesome. I'd definitely recommend. By the way the reason it took so long is because it's the only operating Flying Turns and they could not get cars that passed inspection that would properly run on it as guidelines have changed since the 1930s. They basically had to do it all from scratch.

The one at opryland was a steel bobsled coaster. This one is wooden, and is based off of one that operated in Chicago from 1935 to 1967. There were some other bobsled coasters that were built with the same layout as the one at opryland, like this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/epq2do18payaadE

It's a fun ride, but how did it win best new ride of 2014 when it went against Banshee at Kings Island and Goliath at Six Flags Great America? It didn't even open in 2014.
@mhtube01
@mhtube01 4 жыл бұрын
2014 was it's first full season, it was only open for the month of October I think in 2013. I think it may have won for uniqueness sake but it certainly is not on the level of Banshee when it comes to excitement. I know they couldn't be more different rides but at the end of the day that's what it is.
