Flying Wings Silver Fox 2.5 Ultralight Sportkite

The Silver Fox 2.5 by Flying Wings was designed and produced around 2007-2008(ish). The kite flown in this video is the UL version. All Dynamic rods in the frame. It's quite a large wing being fullsize and it flies in very little wind. It does however have enough mass to trick easily and well. This is a very readable and forgiving kite with a great trick repetoire and some very comfortable feedback when flying lines and corners. This kite is also on loan from Matthieu Bernard. Can't thank Mattt enough for providing yet another kite to feature in a video. Flown and filmed by Lars and me at De Zandmotor on a rather warm September day. Enjoy.

I experimented with re-framing my Silver Fox 2.5 UL with Sky Shark 2PTs, and while it flew in less wind, it became more difficult to do momentum-based tricks. It really worked best with the stock frame. Great video!

Thanks! Great experiment. It’s always a trade-off. Easier flight or easier tricking. Still I was quite amazed by the lower end of the wind range for th stock SF2.5 ul.

It truly is. I would say it’s in the same catagorie as the Eolo Over material wise and build quality.

Can’t go wrong with this one. Get some longer lines with it. It prefers 30meter plus. I’ve flown the standard too and that was equally good. I’m very curious about the vented version. It has a weird tunnel/exhaust system that closes in a fade position.

Low to very low offshore instable thermak layered winds to be honest. But still performed good! Taz not easy…
