Definitely ask if the flight is full, so you may be able to get reseated with an empty seat beside you to let him rest there. And if he sleeps on you not quite as well as the crib, at least it’s only 5 or 6 hours 😄

Sooo helpful....I'm flying from Vancouver to Paris with my 6-month old during COVID (we are moving) ALONE with no help...do you think I should not bother with the stroller bringing the stroller to the gate and just keep her in the carrier? We have to transfer too (2-hour layover). So maybe just check it in (it's not super easy to collapse, it's a bugaboo) before the flight?
@ThePossibilityMom4 жыл бұрын
Michelle Kim I would do the stroller just so you can give your shoulders a break- and maybe get yourself a nice meal hands free! But 100% bring a bag for your stroller or use my plastic bag tip- they kinda just toss the stuff around under the airplane and we had the unfortunate experience of losing our sun canopy once when we flew without a stroller bag! Best of luck, you got this!!!!

Oh wow! Yes, it is a huge relief to find that express lane. Also, when you are boarding, they let families with kids under two board earlier than general boarding, usually right after First Class. Make sure to listen for the announcement because I've seen families miss it and board with everyone else.

Hi Lisa - what exactly happens with your lap infant during take off and landing? If you dont have a car seat/baby's own seat how are you supposed to hold them? I keep seeing info on these child restraints but they seem to be for if the child has their own seat. Many thanks!
@ThePossibilityMom2 жыл бұрын
You can keep the baby on your lap. The airline attendant will come over and tell you how to hold the baby during takeoff and landing but it's pretty intuitive. The car seat is an option for those who want the extra space and want to purchase an extra ticket for the baby.

It could be, but the ear ache usually goes away with nursing or bottle or pacifier. Sometimes they just don’t want to be still for so long. I would just walk him and keep feeding him to distract him. But we had one 3 flight trip from Rio to Toronto and it was just hard. You do your best and hopefully they sleep for stretches and let you rest

Hi, which car seat did you use? And does it require a base to attach to any car? Thanks!

June W it is a Graco and yes, can go in any kind of car! I love it because it is lightweight

Hi Lisa, thanks for the great video! I saw you checked the infant car seat but I did not see the base part of it? Where do you put the base when you travel?
@ThePossibilityMom4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, great question! This carseat is able to work without the base. The base is nice because it's very secure, but you can also just loop the seatbelt through part of the seat. Happy travels!

What u did of formula milk as iam planning to take long flight but not sure security would allow water (luke warm my baby likes)in a thermos or not ????can you give any suggestiion plzzzzzzzzz
@ThePossibilityMom4 жыл бұрын
I didn't use formula as I was nursing at the time. You can bring formula and ask the flight attendant to bring water that is at room temperature.

This has been very helpful..thank you Lisa! Your indeed a supermommy.. love your confidence. We are travelling in 2 weeks with my almost 4 month old baby.. hope its gonna be as easy as it looks on screen 😁😅 our first flight is for 3 hours, later this year again we have another travel booked that will be a 9 hour flight.. i have a quick question, he loves music so much and soothes only when he hears Marc Anthony or Shakira.. was wondering how to play this onboard.... cant play loud music as the other passengers will get disturbed so am planning to buy him a pair of headphones for babies ...is this a good idea? Or is there an alternative? Any tips would do..
@ThePossibilityMom2 жыл бұрын
I have never tried that! We used noise cancelling headphones on a baby once but I haven't tried soothing them with familiar music. I say it's worth trying out!

do airlines ask for a consent letter from the other parent when traveling with just one of the parents?????
@ThePossibilityMom11 ай бұрын
I dont know if they still do occasionally (I have never been asked) but when traveling internationally I bring it with me.

New mom :D I love this video ♥️ what type of stroller do you have for your little one??

Sorry for the delay and welcome! The stroller is the Bugaboo Bee and I still use it (when I'm not using my double stroller).

I am flying solo with an 8 month old baby in a months time and your video is the first one I have watched to get some tips! Thank you for posting some really useful tips - especially the one about not removing the baby carrier !! May I know which baby carrier you are using and if you would recommend it ? Cheers !

Glad it was a help! The carrier I am wearing is by Boba and yes, it's the only one I currently use. Here is a link: amzn.to/2RyNtWV

How you book a flight ticket and add your infant ?? I hope you can help me thank you
@ThePossibilityMom3 жыл бұрын
It's pretty straightforward for most airline sites I've used, although one of the 3rd party sites I bought from had me call the airline afterward to notify them of the child. You do have to pay tax for their travel but not a ticket for a seat (if you don't want a seat for them).

Thank you so much for the info!!! One question @Lisa Canning , what about the car seat base if I need to transport to my destination. What should I do?
@ThePossibilityMom3 жыл бұрын
I used a car seat where the base is optional. An alternative would be to use a rental car company and reserve a car seat. Hope that helps!

Thank you for the video it is very helpful. But something no one talk about. Do you have to pay for the car seat and stroller?
@ThePossibilityMom2 жыл бұрын
No, not on any airline I have travelled with, they are complimentary. But if you are travelling with more of a budget airline, I would call them to double check.
@AnnaWinifredWard4 жыл бұрын
when u gate check the Stroller and car seat, does it go inside the plane with you? If not do u have an idea where they keep it. I'm asking this because I realized u had access to it again at the gate of your destination. I'll be traveling with my 5months old baby and your video was so helpful. I'm using all your tips and hacks
@ThePossibilityMom4 жыл бұрын
Amazing! When you gate check the stroller, they put it under the plane, but it comes out again once you land, so this is the easiest way to get around the airports with the baby. The car seat I checked (for free) as baggage at check in, so you would pick that up at the oversized baggage area near the baggage carousel. You get the tags for both of these items at the same time at the family area check in. Hope that helps!

Do you find it easier to sit in the isle seat or the window when alone with baby? travelling alone with my 9 month old in a couple of weeks!
@ThePossibilityMom5 жыл бұрын
Rob Rebus window. Just slightly more private, you can use the wall to lean on, less chance of bumps etc
@lynnguyen99275 жыл бұрын
To me is isle. Easy to get the food, drink, or rush to toilet. With a baby everything is predictable.

Thank you so much for sharing! I have a question though, why is a parental consent needed ? is there something specific as what to write?
@ThePossibilityMom3 жыл бұрын
I actually don’t know the reason, but I believe it has to do with ensuring the safety of the child- the letter literally just has to say something like, “I consent my child is traveling independently with her mother” but definitely check with your airline / local government!

Thank you for for sharing, informative video. Question: which airline do you recommend is best with space - I'll be traveling with my grandson.
@ThePossibilityMom3 жыл бұрын
I found the bigger airlines had more space- Air Canada and West Jet in Canada, United in USA- whereas the budget airlines were way too tight. I would check if you can see the space between seats before you book and compare flights, but when in doubt I would pay a bit more for a bigger name airline.
