In this episode, I had the pleasure of flying with aviation legend Randy Harmon of Harmony Air today. We flew the Vision Jet to Knoxville, TN to drop Randy off and spend a little time at Cirrus Aircraft. There were a variety of beautiful Cirrus airplanes for you to see as I taxied out of the Cirrus ramp for departure.
This flight was between Knoxville, TN and Smyrna, TN at a planned altitude of 14,000 feet. The flight covered 158 nautical miles and its duration was a short 42 minutes. We try out a couple new camera angles and a new DJI Osmo Action camera on this flight.
If you need air charter services, pilot training, aircraft management, aircraft rental or aviation sales and acquisition consultation, contact my friends at Harmony Air. They are conveniently located near the John C Tune Airport for easy access. To learn more, shoot them a call at (615) 350-8550 or visit www.HarmonyAir.com.

Thanks for talking about what you are doing on your avionics, altitude, fuel burn, thrust settings, and speeds. My wife passed away some time ago and I I kept my Barton 58P in my hanger allowing a local pilot friend to fly the Baron a few hours each month. I have an order for the Cirrus Jet and I truly appreciate all your detailed comments regarding all the aspects of flying the CirrusJet. Thanks to you I am getting familiar with the Cirrus and in a few months I will start flying my Barron again to get current flying( it’s been over a year since my wife passed away and I simply stopped flying). I thank God for my daughter pressing me to get back flying. I hope when I am notified when my Cirrus Jet will be ready for me I will attend ground school, simulator training, and get an instructor to train me to get back to my comfort zone flying my new Cirrus Jet. You seem to feel good with the Jet which motivates me to look forward to a new fresh start to continue flying. Imagine, I will be flying at flight levels 28 and beyond.wow! God bless you Jean.

Hi Jean! Thanks for watching. It must be exciting to have a new SF50 coming! I definitely recommend you get flying again and very sorry for the loss of your wife! Baron’s are fun planes too. Let me know of you need an instructor for the jet or have questions about the type rating. Thanks again!

Never did get a license but sat left seat a few times with instructor pilots in little a pipers and a Cessna. I should have gone the pilot route instead of computer programming. Computers are boring compared to flying! Love watching your videos.

If you have an interest in flying, re-start lessons and see where it goes. Its a great hobby and most areas have social circles associated with aviation. Get your certificate, rental a plane and take some trips if you can. If getting your certificate is not do-able, you can still rent a plane and fly with an instructor for as long as you want. Good luck and thanks!

@@DonAv8s Goodmorning Don. I am 71 going on 72. I have bad vertigo now and other health issues. I took my first flight in 1971 after getting out of the navy. I found it easy and enjoyable. However, I had already started a computer school so never thought about switching. Should have though because I never was really good at programming. Have a great day.

One thing I love about the Vision Jet is the front seats that slide back and forth where a big man like myself can get into the aircraft and sit comfortably. Plus each seat in the front has its own door to the aircraft. Love the Vision Jet!

Thanks for watching! Actually, there is only one door and it’s on the left side and aft of the pilot’s seat. The sliding seats make for lots of room up front, like you mentioned. The width of the cockpit is nice for this class of jet.

nice,,, i never see pilots open ifr flight plan,s,,, is that done by the tower when they give the cleared to TO ?
@DonAv8s
@DonAv8s 3 жыл бұрын
The IFR clearance is obtained by ground control or clearance delivery prior to the taxi clearance at controlled airports. The takeoff clearance is issued after departure control authorized the takeoff.

@@MAGApepe Departure control opens it when they give tower the ok to release a departure. Tower closes it when you land or you can close it by phone at an non towered airport.
