I got my PPL in 2002. I trained in a 1973 C172 with a 180 HP powerplant, powerflow exhaust, and a constant speed prop. Let's just say upon my first solo, that thing climed like a rocket. I loved that plane. I was checked out in C150s and C182s as well. Unfortunately I have not flown since 2007. Thanks for the video!

I soloed in a Tomahawk my instructor asked me how it felt I told her it climbed a lot faster without her in it. haha. She was killed in 1996 and my wife grounded me after that. I did get to fly for 5 years before that happened. RIP Peggy

This is a Fantastic Episode. Dakota has really developed terrific narration tone and cadence that keeps me leaning in and learning something new every time. It was great to see Bobby a little on edge with the winds and Dakota demonstrating such confidence and cool energy. Good work all the way around.

I keep my 172 at FTW and just visited PK couple weeks ago. I think it’s only a matter of time before they get an FBO there with the amount of growth around. Those winds tend to swirl off the lake, that was a great landing.

I grew up and still live in McMinnville. My dad was the FBO (A&P, multi-engine CFII, crop duster...etc.) at RNC for almost 15 years in the 1960's. We lived at the (old) airport terminal for about six years. I am SEL/Instrument and have a 1969 182M, based at RNC, of course. Would love to take y'all flying over Fall Creek Falls if you ever get back for the family reunion thing.

We used to have a lake house on Rock Creek camp on the upper end of the lake where the bravos makes a horseshoe turn and rock creek runs off of the river It was right across the road from the boat ramp My mom had it painted pink and you definitely could spot it from the lake Nice little neighborhood and great fishing before the golden algae hit

Enjoyed the flight. Nice form landing, holding the nose gear off. But one suggestion for those to whom this applies. Please abbreviate your call sign at non towered fields. Not really sure why everyone uses full call signs, and calls every leg of the pattern even when the patterns empty. It just congests the ctaf for everyone within a 50-100 mile radius.
